Honda City IDSI 2008 vs IVTEC 2013

Salam Pakwheelers,
In the year 2022, which car I should go for? I have 2 options
1. Honda City IDSI 2008
2. Honda City IVTEC 2013 (roof changed)
Both are available to me in almost same price.
Opinions should be based on fuel economy and less maintenance required.

I want to keep the car for long period.

Why is the roof changed?

An electric pole fell on the car roof 7 years ago. Then he repaired or changed (not confirmed) the roof. Since then the car is running fine and has had no issues.

You may opt for the new one as you are getting the car in right price and only the roof was damaged and I’m assuming the car to be mechanically fit

Yes Mechanically its fit. The person who owns this is a sensible person. clutch plates and AC evaporator recently changed.
Please give me an idea that how much offer I should make for this car?

You have already mentioned that you’re getting both the cars in almost same price , which indicates that you’ll be getting that car under 15lacs

Even a 2009 model Ivtec is costing more than 16 lacs now a days , you are getting the 13 model with a repaired roof

IMHO anything under 15 is a really good bargain

Actually he gave me an idea that for IVTec 13 he received and offer of 15 lacs 6 months ago. and now he thinks that his car must sell around 17 lacs. I have to make my offer yet.
For the IDSI 08, final demand I have is 15.35 lacs. roof pillar are genuine, color is red. body have touching on most parts. car is rust free.
If I make offer of 15.5 lac for IVTEC, Is it would be a good deal for me?

Definitely its a yes
Honestly telling , if any clever person comes to know about this car , he would get his hands on the car immediately even offering him 16-17 lacs and then selling the car to next person without telling him about the roof part for a good profit
Personally i feel its better to get a newer model as long as its maintained well and you know the history as well . Tree/pole can fell anytime on anyones ride , its just about paying the right price for the right thing .
In this scenario you are aware of the damage and already paying below the market/price with the damage known

Clutch plates changed within 9 years? What's the total milage on this car and absolutely be sure the car is not used commercially or abused.

Do you expect clutch plates to last 50 years?
Average life of a clutch plate is approx 150k kms mate!

I will check the mileage of the car (IVTec 2013). But I am sure that car is not commercially used. Its home used and the owner is well educated, sensible and well mannered person. from whom I can expect that he will be keeping the car with very care. Average he share with me is 12.5kmpl in city with heavy foot and very often use of AC at idle.

Honda City 2008 without a doubt, it will be cheaper to maintain, has better fuel economy if properly maintained, better comfort better ride.
