Honda city L13 with api SP oil

hi i have honda city 2018 at 45k on odometer. i was using zic api sp 0w30 which was running perfect with performance and low noise of engine. oil was changed before 7500 km i hope its API SP and should run 10k atleast with honda genuine filter.

summer is coming i technically want to know is it feasible to use the same viscosity or switch back to 5w30 with 1.3 where company says 5w30 is recommended. i heard company used 0w20 too with 2017~ city

0w30 will work ok too, dont sweat it. Buy it if its cheaper..

your answer is like a final solution thank you.
its not cheaper honda synthetic 5w30 is Rs 1400 cheaper. but have no issue if its change interval is 10000km+

one more question what should.be the oil replacement interval with this zic API SP 0w30 oil ? there is general mind set of 5000 km which is nilot correct i think. what do you suggest?

0W20 Honda Genuine oil can be used for 7-8k kms with genuine filter. Without any problem.

5000 kms was oil change interval of ancient specification oils running in badly tuned carburettor engines.

@Xulfiqar need help once again. i drove 9000 km using 0w30 api sp. oil is reduced 2 cm from top mark . car is driven only 46000km. what should i do? is it normal or switch back to 5w30? if you can respond quickly ot would be great.

Its normal if oil is between max and min line. These advanced oils can last much longer with genuine filters. On a safe side 10k kms is a nice interval.

My Suggestion would be to change oil at 5000km.
I know modren oils can last as long as 15000km.
And its normal for the car to reduce a little bit oil above 5000km interval.
You need to top it off regularly(which is costly in its self as you cannot find a one liter bottle in 0w30)
Other issue is that the longer the oil stays in the engine more sludge it will form inside the engine.
What i am doing on my 2014 city 107k km driven is that i use honda 5w30 SM oil and VIC oil filter and change it every 5000km.its cost effective and piece of mind too.
Never had any issue Alhamdulillah

As long as it's above the min mark, there's no need to panic. Keep changing oil at 10,000kms, or 1 year whichever comes first.
