Honda City Maintainence

Hi,
I need to ask about honda city 2017. It has been driven nearly 70000. Last I got checked it at 35000. Now I want to ask what should I get checked?
I asked honda about it and they gave me an estimate of 70,000 for maintenance which included things like:
Brake pads 15000
Fuel filter 16000
Spark plugs 15000
Gear oil 3500
They also told me about the servicing of the throttle body, tuning, brakes, and catalytic for 9000. There were other things which added up to 70,000. I am only listing the main things.
Now I wanted to ask is all of this is compulsory? Plus is it better to get it done from honda or I can get it done from some other workshop? Where can I get genuine parts cheaper because honda's prices seem way too high?
Any advice will be appreciated.

bhai they are looting you. not one of these things is necessary. check your car yourself. at most you would need new brake pads and throttle body cleaning

Yes these are necessary. U already have the things needed to perform. Find some local good mechanic and have these all things changed from him at home, will cost u less than what Dealership has quoted.

If you have the owners / users manual of your car with you, then kindly check in it that which services are reqd. at how much interval? Proceed accordingly, and if you missed something in the past, then you can have it done now.

If your vehicle is under warranty, and you would like to maintain it, then you have to get it done from any authorised Honda dealership only. Else if, any good garage would suffice.

Regarding parts, you can order online through Pakwheels Auto Store, or Parts Central PK. Prices there will be fairly less as to what Honda dealership is telling you, and you might have option for home delivery too.

Number one : All these services are not required.

Number two : Dealership prices will always be insane, you can find reputable shops with genuine parts at almost half the price of dealership

Brake Pads : Inspect them and see if they need changing. My 2015 City ran 78k km with single brake pads, it all depends on your driving habits, 70 pe yours might be almost finished but always check before replacing

Fuel Filter : Not required at all

Spark Plugs : Rate is around 3800 from dealership. Agar 70 pe change karwa rhay hain maybe they are giving iridium spark plugs in City but i dont know for sure lekin again 2k se upar ka nai hai single piece

Gear Oil : Check your owners manual for gear oil interval

Now coming to the throttle body. 70k mein its ok agar saaf karwa lain tou acha hai lekin yeh konsi 2 nambri hai k parts change kar rhay hain brake pads and spark plugs and then uske upar brake service and tuning k paisay, meri tou samajh se bahar hai agar new pads and plugs hain tou servicing konsi a gayi

Paisay loooooootnay ka bas tareeqa. Catalytic word sahi se pronounce karna nai aata usse service karain gay Honda walay shakal nai unki waisay. Go to a different place if you want to service it.

Contact partscentral for the required things as the parts they are offering are almost more than double the price. Please check ur owner's manual for what is required.

As other mentioned inspect brake pads and plugs to see if they require changing
I believe your car is manual, then gear oil should be changed at 60k
its good to have throttle and catalytic cleaned now if you haven't done it before, as its a preventive measure which helps prolongs and keep car in good health

which city are you from?
maybe members can suggest some good workshops then

edit: i think we can first/once clean fuel filter of fuel pump and later change if required

If you are in Lahore, then issue is already resolved regarding Pakwheels Auto Store and Parts Central PK both, as these both have their offices in Lahore. And in case of Parts Central PK, you can directly go to their office and get the reqd. parts.

this workshop is on peco road
i did my city's throttle and catalytic and plug cleaning from them for 3500 back in feb if i remember correctly
they also calibrated car's rpm after doing the work as any EFI needs to be re calibrated after throttle cleaning
they can also do other work if required, but i think you can start with these and gear oil first
i found them to have proper knowledge of what they were doing and not toying/testing with my car

(do remember that current model city have 2 catalytic's and some workshop dont tell you this and just clean one, its always best to remove it and clean them, pouring liquid on top without opening is also done by some workshops but i don''t think its as good as removing and cleaning)

what about 40 k km service
if not
do all the job on 80k kms
1 change gear oil brake oil
2 no need to change spark plugs lasts till 100k kms
3 change fuel filter on 80k kms
4 tappet throttle catalytic convertor clean on 80k kms

Honest advice is to NEVER EVER get this kind of maintenance done at the dealership (stealership), they will just rip you off with these crazy charges which you can get it done from any reliable workshop at almost less than half its price. So, I suggest you go to any reliable workshop with expert mechanics and ask them to first check and analyze your City whether it requires all this maintenance or not, and then get it done from there and you can thank me later.

They are pathetic looters, I also had the 40k maintenance and bill was approx PKR 18k if i remember it correctly. but that was excluding brake pads which are of approx 15k.
- Fuel filter - Not required,
- spark plug - not required at all because iridum plugs as long as 80k KMs),
- gear oil Not required (get it checked by i am 100% sure will not ne required to change),
- CAT convt. might be if u r pouring low quality fuel but again that depends.
- Throttle body - My recommendation is to get it cleaned
- Brake pads - check the condition but for Auto car, they normally work for 40k KMs
