Had to sign in at this late hour to wish you best of luck with this project. I can see you'll do justice to this under rated platform, I have a soft spot for this generation City because they are so similar to my favorite platform the 4th gen Civic.

If you can please also update the thread with details regarding the motor swap, maybe I'll find the inspiration to fix the few issues I have with my own motor. I'll also be looking forward to fuel average figures and I am sure you won't be disappointed if everything is done right. Good thing is you found the P2J manual ecu because that's very hard to come by.

Intersection lights? Interesting choice, Personally I am not a hard fan of those, You're right about the rarity factor but if your headlamps are good enough then you don't need these taking away the charm of a clean bumper.

It's true how the City has a lot on common with the 4th gen civic. The motor swap was pretty straightforward, it was a bolt on fit without any single change to any of the mounts, stock axles were used as well, transmission is the S3T/P3T that comes in the VTEC variant of the City in Philippines and Thailand. Cranked the motor today and MashAllah it's running smooth, will go for exhaust work tomorrow and post some videos later on

As for the intersection lights, I bought them only because it's not everyday you find them with each and every wiring, brackets, mounts, clips and that too a brand new pack specifically designed for this City, just couldn't let it go

What I actually meant was any possible glitches faced and then solved, Any Idling issue (Mine has developed this in the past month or so) Was the engine harness butchered at the firewall or uncut? (Mine sadly had to be a local botch job from the firewall and I think that's cause of my occasional random problems). Is the O2 sensor on your motor the four wired or the two wired one? I have the two wire one blue/white if I remember, Took me quite a while to find the connector for it thanks to local wiring gurus.

It was the first time we cranked it today, the car was without a downpipe so the sound was unbearable, couldn't really test it properly, going for exhaust work in a while and then to the workshop to solve all the problems and issues if there are any. Need to sort out some ECU work. The wiring was mostly uncut, had to butcher a just couple of wires though, that's necessary so not a big deal. I think mine has a single black wire if I'm not wrong :S

You can notice that on first sight, both cars have a lot in common, the City was based on the 4th Gen Civic platform. The suspension is interchangeable to some extent although the Civic has a better double wishbone setup, the engine layout is the same, both cars have round about the same stance and even the body panels specifically the doors are similar.

Didn't really get your point, how is a SX8 City similar to a 94 Accord, I mean HOW is that even possible?
The City is totally based on the EF Platform, Every International SX8 enthusiast is well aware of this fact.

Still, the body panels are way different, the dimensions and the design, the EF Civic and City have the same doors if you look closely.

Yeah if you'll notice the main styling then it's different of course but a lot of parts here and there are the same. The old Civic wasn't much of a treat to me since I had the 88 Accord then which was a whole other story and the Civic was considered as it's 'little cousin'.

Haha! Never really bothered to actually drive one in good condition, most of them here are in pretty bad shape. Kept/restored properly and it's a decent college driver.

In addition to that in the interior you can notice in the pre-facelift City the AC/Heater controls are straight off from a Civic, the seats are interchangeable so are the door panels as well as the gauge cluster is also straight off from a 4th gen, In the engine bay you can also see the battery location is also the same, Apart from the front fascia, rear end and the dashboard it's all the same. If I get nit picky then the washer fluid bottle location is also pretty weird and different in the City.

Jokes aside, Everyone has their likes and dislikes and I can tell you that you are not the first person to say that in fact I hear that alot specially from people in my family circle but I find this platform a joy to work on because of their simplicity and because of the fact that all it's younger successful Civic brothers owe it to this generation, The first true SiR variant, The introduction of VTEC I believe the second car after NSX, The independent rear suspension, The over rated B series motors all have their roots in this generation and if done justice I think they look as good as all the other generations.

I hope the VW community doesn't label this as blasphemy but I think it's sort of like a beetle. You love it or you hate it.

Anyways lets not take the focus away from Rohaan's thread and drift away into discussions about who likes what and what's similar to what.
