salam to all, I have just bought a Honda city 2005 vario, 65000km done. its internal manifold is leaked and giving a constant sound of trrrr trrrr trrrrr trrrrrr when ever I push accelerator. I haven't done full payment and the owner gave me 10 days to check the car properly and will compensate the pending or any due maintenance. I took it to Honda drive in (Karachi), they checked it and did the pending performance tunning and other things. despite all that I have checked three times that car is giving me just 4km per liter! that's way too less than what automatic city should give. in Karachi city driving in areas like fb area, nazimabad, nagan, north, gulhsan.....it should give around 10km atleast. I again took car to Honda, explained them....but people at Honda are as dumb as an ***! they are world's most stupid, idiot and foolish people who don't know anything about the car or technology, they cant understand or sort out the problem. what they did is again checked the whole car on computers and said everything ok, took their fees and sent me off. I then approached my own mechanic, he checked the car, he sorted out two problems....1st the front left gear mount foundation was broken, giving sudden jerk sound whenever car is accelerated, I was not convinced as Honda people didn't noticed it, I asked him to open that foundation and it was totally broken, I changed it. the other thing mechanic told me about fuel consumption problem is the leaking internal manifold. it was evening time and I took car back to home, searched the internet and found out that leaking manifold really reduces the mileage more than half on cars with O2 sensors which Honda city have. what it does is it checks the amount of oxygen entering into car exhaust, and accordingly it injects fuel for combustion, now leaking manifold actually cant hold oxygen as it leaks away, but the sensor releases that much fuel which is not combusted properly and hence wasted, releasing carbon mono oxide and other hazardous gases. I will take my car to mechanic tomorrow for internal manifold change. will check fuel mileage after that. but I want to ask the experts, is this can be a reason of such a low mileage? why people at Honda cannot figure it out? what are they doing there? just charging huge amount of money and know nothing about car and technology which a simple "gali ka mechanic" knows?
