Honda City Vario - Optimum RPM for fuel efficiency

The topic pretty much says it all. Can some technically sound folks share their knowledge regarding the optimum rpm for the Vario during city driving? My impression was that the lower the RPM, the better the mileage (i.e. less fuel consumed), but I've recently been told that that might not be true.

I get around 12 km/litre within the city with 100% AC on my 2007 Vario. Would like some feedback on what other people's experiences are like.

bro are you sure ur city is 12km /litre ??
i have 2007 city vario and it gives me around 8 km/ litre
wots the reason for this ??? any advises on fuel economy ?!?!
i had cng installed in my car for 2 years ... but i have stopd using it coz i heard it screws the gear box in an automatic car

14 to 16 kms on long with AC.
12 Kms local with AC on.

On cng
approx 150 -160 kms with AC on on long in full cylinder 55L
approx 100 to 110 local with AC on.

I came to derive a formula that keep your engine RPM in between 3 to 3.4 K RPM. in other word speed 90 to 110 km/h

yar its weight n capacity of cylender
it means that abt 8.5/9 kg cng in 55kg capacity cylender having 200/220 bar pressure
abt 18 km per kg cng
18kg in appr 70 rupee new price
actually in 1300 cc cars rpm abt 2.75 to 3.3 gives more fuel economy than other
n in manual system low push of cradle n change of gear as
ist gear only for move of car
2nd abt 10 to 20 speed
3rd gear bt 40 to 50
4th gear abt 60 to 70
5th gear abt 80 to 90
n u will get best result
n more than 1300 cc
best rpm is 2.2 esp in 1800cc altis civic etc
in other words gaari ka zor nai lagnay daina smooth driving n humble driving
in automatic drive smooth pace will enhance the fuel economy
although in city automatic consume more than out of city than the manual

please someone to help me regarding fuel efficiency of honda city vario 2004, its not at all affordable , it is giving me only 8 km/litre within city and 11km/litre on long ....as if i have some pajero or land cruser....please some one to guide me how to enhance my vehicle's fuel efficiency (vario 2004 )

I have Verio 2007 Model and i get 700 Km on auto full tank on motorway and in city 600 on auto full tank with smooth feet and with hard feet i got 550 to 560 confirmed auto full tank almost 45 litres tank
