Honda Civic 1.8-Liter VTI Oriel Catches Fire In Gujranwala

This incident happened yesterday at 8PM in Gujranwala near Railway station in front of GT road. Honda Civic 1.8-Liter VTI Oriel Catches fire due to some Technical issues.However, In the latest development sources report that the car in question caught fire due to faulty wiring and a use of cheap HID’s, which sparked a fire in the electrical wiring of the car (under the hood) and then it led to a battery blast, which then destroyed the car’s engine and ended up damaging the chassis with its acidic remains. The fact, however remains that this mishap led to the destruction of someone’s property.

Best of luck to our youth for extensively using these HIDs these days for no reason. Result in here in front of you. You haven't mentioned the pain and torture these HIDs cause to the person driving ahead of a car with high beam on with HID. You can literally see in the rear or side mirror and can't even see properly in front with such cars behind you.

My concerned is that HONDA ll Conduct a proper investigation and and make it public to satisfy the other users because besides the loss of a car family lives are priceless . Recently we witnessed few Samsung Note 7 exploded in some parts of the world And Samsung pulled back all the sold devices just to ensure the safety of end user.
What ever the fault happened to that civic. Atlas Honda must conduct a proper technical investigation and make it public.

Cheap hid being imported from china are cause of these . People risk their lives and cars for cheap stuff . Small people and short mentality approach

It is not fault of Honda that people are installing cheap third party products . The product is not manufactured by Honda nor they are putting this stuff in their cars so it is not their responsibility .

Why HIDS... Regular halogens are way better for Good visibility .. People have only shashka of HIDS.. Poor owner..

Going to buy a fire extinguisher for my car very Soon.. see when fire started he can control it if he has fir extinguisher.. but later on it became massive.. 1 kg or 2 kg cylinder worth 1500 or 2000 is very little as compared to this kind of damage. May ALLAH safe us

Lesson learned very hard way. Will insurance company cover the insurance even if they find out that it is due to the negligence and installation of bad Hids/wiring ?

They don't . Loss is only covered if the thing was fitted by Honda and was genuine

It happens with my new car coz of fog lights installed by Toyota showroom which were low quality in high price luckily I was insured by TPL, and didn't get anything from them as inspected and estimated by toyota showroom.

HID is obviously a cover up story by Honda Pakistan to protect its brand and image. NO serious or proper investigation could have taken place in ten hours after the accident.

Pakwheels had pointed out lack of quality issues when this model was released.

Anyhow a shirt circuit should not lead to engine fire in a quality car!

these cheap HIDs are being sold online even everywhere in Lahore especially on Montgomery road .. they should be banned permanently damaging environment and later on a safety hazard ... i would suggest keep the car stock there is absolutely no need to put any thing on the car ... keep as it is ...feel sorry for the owner .. it hurts

Well aap log nay notice kia hoga yeh fire issues gaariyon mai bohat horay hain pichlay dino ek surf ya shayd hilux mai hua tha i don't remember car name uss ki right side front k bumpers say lay kr pillars tk jal gai thi or bhe aisay kai incident horay hain so mera idea yeh hai k jb nai gaariyan itni costly bn rai hain so inmay circuit breaker bhe hona chahiye takay jb kbhi khuda na khasta aag lagy driver circuit breaker off krday gaari ka electric say cut off hojaye ga totally or circuit breaker ka leaver hood release k lever k sath bhe dia ja skta hai or driver k door mai bhe.

This is all about our own faults going to desi fitter and electrician and putting Chinese HID. All the cars with HID should be burn. We should not be judge for the manufacturer or assembler. Honda is one of the best one can drive and enjoy. I am driving Civic since 1997 and still have 5 of them including the 2017. All are running fine but all in original conditions and no alteration. Every thing by Honda and it's authorised dealers. Honda Atlas Car is not responsible for the problem created by the user him self. Using HID lights is a criminal like thing and it make you blind for seconds if it cross you from front. So it's not fair to say something against the Honda.
