Unless your idle speed is little off set it must not happen, if the car is on an inclinde it will jerk slu=ightly more. If it were on a level surface it wont jerk much. In the older models one always experiences a slight shake when the clutch engages itself to the engine,, it is perfectly normal. The sound that accopmanies the jerk is a bit serious, there should never come any sound, except fro the dry brakes. Some times when you dont push down hard enough on the brakes, the engine pushes the car forward and the brakes make a squeeking noice or the clanking noise as you have stated.
