Honda civic 1998 VTI, reconditioning

Hi Pakwheelers,

I recently bought a honda civiv 1998 vti. Its in good condition but i want to recondition it myself. (as a hobby and fun).
I want to do following things but don't know much about hondas. So please help me complete my checklist which follows.

Get a service manual for my car. ( i have the service manual of 96-00 honda civics but it seems its for USA and Canada versions, i need which is for my make and model)
Clean the engine bay completely. Take out as much stuff as i can, (except for the engine and difficult stuff etc) and put them back after micro cleaning and polishing etc.
Redo most of the wiring. (as iver the period of time our desi Mistris have done god knows what to the wiring, bypassing the fuzes, direct connections etc)

Help would be much appreciated.

Maximum cars of these models have assemblies swapped
Usually OEM ecu n wiring of d16 but fitted with d15 assembly

I am posti g pictures of my engine bay.
Can you please guide me on following things first.

Which engine does my car have (if someone can please tell me the model so that i can look up on internet as well for additional guidance)
Is my engine replaced or is it the stock one.
My techometer (RPM) meter is also dead. Needle dosent move from zero at all times. How can i isolate the problem.

Also i noticed that towards the right of the radiator fan there was an emplty space. So i checked pics online and noticed that sone cars have condensor beside the radiator fan assembly.
Why my car doesn't have it?
The AC is working perfectly. Beyond my expectations to be honest alhamdulillah.

Read the engine number, its punched on the engine where slave cylinder and gear is mounted.
Stock engine was PK6V.
You need to change your speedometer, it can cost 3-4k. Manual ones are rare and expensive.

Yes it says PK6 followed by the number.
But honda engine nomenclature is in otger format as far as i know. Its D16y5, d16y7, d16y8, b16a etc. Nai?

All other guages are functioning properly. Only techometer is the problem. How can i be sure its the guage and not some wiring or sensor issue?

Ok thanks for the help. I isolated the problem to the broken wire coming out of the distributor housing. Which was coming from ignition control module. I repaired it and now the RPM guage works fine alhamdulillah.

Now i am trying to remove the desi mistree connections and trying to return it to stock wiring and connections. Also noticed that a lot of additional wiring is there which leds to nowhere. I am removing it one by one after throughly consulting the service manual and internet so that i don't remove any important or stock wiring.
Main reason is that this car had cng kit at one point. So i guess some wiring from that mod is still there dangling around.
Also i noticed a lot of direct connections from sensors to guages and parts bypassing the wire harness routing. So i am checking and if the wiring in the stock harness is good (checking with the help of multimeter) toe i am connecting it back.

Its been a lot of time since i last posted here. N in the meanwhile i have done quite some work on my civic. Most of it myself. And i am alhamdulillah seeing some positive improvement in everything. But still like any old car, the problems are arising as i address them . The best thing is, that i now know somethings about cars which i never knew before.

I painted my head cover. It took almost 2 days to sand and rub the old paint off of it and 2 day to paint it again n put it back. Now its good s knew. Also while doing it i replaced the hed cover gasket, spark plug holes rubbers, head cover bolt rubbers, distributor o ring. Also painted the upper plastic cover of timing belt after removing it from the bay. The plus side of removing the timing belt upper cover for paint purpose was that i also got to inspect my timing belt for any wear n tear.
