Honda Civic 2000 | Head Bolts tightening | Gasket Issue

Hello to all members and Pak wheelers,

I have recently swapped my engine to D16Y5 and it was the best decision ever, Alhamdulillah very satisfied as it had Thermostate builtin from company side.
My brother took my car oneday and the engine got overheated like not full, I found out there was some stone stuck up in that thermostate which was the reason for it.

Alhamdulillah all was saved and the engine was as same as like before.

The Mechanic told me that he needs to tighten the head bolts so even if the gasket got little damage it will compress it and will be perfect as before. he did tight it manually using hand.

Please guide me if this was a correct decision or will I need to loose it a bit now.

Do not listen to dumb mechanics.
Head should be torqued down according to service manual.
Now he had stretched the bolts by over tighten them.

The engine was heated a little bit which probably would have heated the original gasket as well which is of metal one.

So he had overtighten the bolts a little bit as to compress the gasket a bit.
Do you think it will cause me issue?

Also If I try to lose them a bit will it cause trouble then?
Or If I can do lose a bit I can return that into original settings by the same mechanic

Gasket will compress to a certain limit after that bolts take the load.
Gasket already survived so such act had never needed.
New bolts should be installed if you are thinking to loose them again.

So If I may ask this can I leave it in the same position, because it was not that Super tightly harden like old mechanics do but like tighten a bit 2 times in an order.

I just really need to ask if everything will be alright or if not, Do I need to install new one's.

Just so you know sir,

I have travelled like more than 100KM and used AC. When I reached there, tried to remove the radiator cap and the water was rotating but it didn't push out from the radiator.
I have asked many mechanics and they told me signs of best engine and radiator.

78 degree Thermostat is installed.

What are your thoughts on this.

Note: There is no air in the pipes because I bleed them out.

Your gasket is totally fine .
Search for service manual you can find d series stuff easily online. Go through it. And follow it in future.

Don't listen to these mechanics.
Do your own research.
Pretty vast material present online for this civic.
I think your setup is all good.
No need to worry.
