hi. i owned civic 7th gen vti oriel 2003. overall i am happy with the car. but i have some issues regarding its fuel consumption. i need your suggestion, that is it possible to swap its engine with some 1.3L honda engine e.g 1.3 I-DSI? i can compromise on power and speed.

L12 IDSI was underpowered for city it self and you want to throw it in civic man you will end up with car that will be painfull to drive btw what fuel avg you are getting? Your car is auto or manual?
Do keep in mind power to weight ratio you’ll end up in more less fuel average from what you are getting at present
Whats wrong with current engine? This car in a proper tune should give 10km/l
thanks for your reply. yes its engine is fine giving 10km/L. my daily drive in city is around 50-60km, and i want its average around 15km/L.
My car is manual.
Then better sale it and buy some vitz it might give you 14-15km/l

Also, which city are you from? Karachi people tend to get relatively lower mileage than upcountry counterparts.
My personal experience from my civics:
Its giving good avg. manual civic should give 10km/l and in long it would give 14km/l if driven under 120km/h.
