Hey, hope everyone is doing fine.
I bought a honda civic 2005 manual which had d15b engine in it which was causing some over heating problems
so i decided to get it replaced with d17
my mechanic bought the engine, it is a japan import automatic d17a with vtec solenoid
so currently my setup is manual transmission and ECU with automatic engine
He did the wiring and engine runs smoothly and performs well in lower gears i.e 1st 2nd and 3rd
but i feel performance lag in 4th gear and in 5th it really pushes to go above 4800 rpm with top speed of 155
my old d15b even with really bad pistons was pushing far above that and top speed was above 170
im concerned about manual ECU with an automatic engine not giving me the best performance
fuel average isnt that good as well but im currently concerned about performance
i think vtec isnt kicking in causing both low rpm and bad fuel performance
can anyone please guide what could be possible issues and fixes?
