Honda Civic 2005 Starting/Restarting Problem

Hello Pakwheelers!

I have a 2005 Honda Civic 2005 VTi Oriel Prosmatec and I have been facing a strange problem since the summer started that my car doesn't start when turned off after travelling around 30-40 Kms. At first I thought that may be the car temperature has risen but that was not the case. I have to wait for 20-30 mins or a quick solution is that I have to jump start and the car starts.

• The car is showing no sensor faults

• I changed the generator/alternator

• Installed a brand new radiator just to be sure

• Serviced the self

but still the problem is there.

One thing I noticed is that the cable from generator/alternator to engine block was touching the hot cover of headers and it also left a mark on the cover. I tied the cable away but still no solution.

I'd be really thankful if any body can guide.

Have you got your battery load tested? However, this sounds like typical starter motor heat soak. You mentioned about servicing it (which is usually just cleaning and greasing here), it wont help if your windings are shorted out. Replace the starter motor, it should solve it.
The alternator wire is branched down from the injector/ignition coils wiring harness and shouldnt be touching the exhaust manifold.
