Honda Civic 2006 Hybrid VS Toyota Corolla 1.3 Gli 2012?

AOA fellow pakwheelers,
I need some advice regarding which car is better. I have two options; a Honda Civic Hybrid 2006 OR a Brand new Toyota Corolla Gli 2012. Can you please comment on which car is a better buy and why? what are the pros and cons of both, etc. Your UNBIASED advice will be truly appreciated. =)

use ur own intelligence and get a new car instead of a car of 7 years old, impossible to repair in PK etc.

Both of them have 1300cc engine. But upto my experience a brand new 1.3 Gli is far better than a honda hybrid. A hybrid civic may give you upto approx. 750 kms in city while a Gli will give you approx. 550 kms (calculations based on my experience) on a full tank. Parts of civic are expensive as compared to Toyota. And above all a new car will have less problems as compared to the used ones.

If you want to go for a hybrid, go for Prius but with a low milage and a proper auction sheet (as milage is mentioned clearly on auction sheet.)

The civic that i've seen has an original auction sheet,etc. It has done 55,000 km and well i found its drive to be quite comfortable. I've never sat/driven a prius so i don't know about it but yes i've heard that it's a competitor for the civic hybrid. And well won't prius maintainance be a problem too if u say that the civic maintainence will be a problem? :o

Maintainance of both is a headache, but as i said: Only if you want to go for a hybrid then go for Prius ELSE Gli FTW..

I used to own two 2010 Gli and now own One 2012 Gli(1.3).

Is the 2012 performing well? is it performing better than the 2010 one Becoz now i am thinking of buying the GLi if i wish to keep the car i buy for a long term =)

no i am not biased coz i like GLI BUT i also like the fuel consumption that hybrids give.......abt 15km/l in city and 18 on highway =)

Btw what about Toyota AXIO? in comparison with GLi and the HYbrids? :o its a 1500cc car.

Never owned an AXIO. Have heard much about it's fuel consumption.

Bro hybrids are very hard go maintain and since you want to keep a car for long time than put hybrids aside and in hybrid go for prius only it has some resale other than hybrid Gli is good but lacks many features and is highly priced think for for a axio or a axio fielder both cars of G gradw in top notch condition will cost you around 17lacs max it has many features like air bags auto adjustment lights auto tranny which is a basic need now i will set priority as following

Axio fielder
Axio (both fresh import and above 4.5 grade with intirior b grade
Gli 2012 in case you r going brand new
Than hybrids

My GLI gives 12 km/L in city and 15 on long route. sometimes more than 12 in city.
