Go for a Civic if you prefer better handling and preformance at the cost of Fuel Economy. City is more fuel efficient and is more comfortable than a civic IMO. Both are good choices and I would suggest driving them both before making your own mind about it.
I would advise going for a more latest model vehicle unless you plan on spending a decent amount in repairs and other work to be done on the vehicle. Rest is your choice!
