Honda Civic 2013: Pakistan launch

If you get lil things right (which I shall explain later)... This is how 9th gen civic responds ... pleasantly surprised I must say ... For all those who are still pondering between this and 3to5 year old Japanese counterparts .. It's time to stop .. In my humble opinion the best option in 2 million bucks right now we have, like it or not ... ( this mileage Is in Lahore city traffic with ac, driven in one day from morning to evening just few days after its second oil change)... P.S ... prosmetic wishers look away rite now .. this happens only with manual .. I drove 672 km local with ac before getting the tank full last time and it got full in 49 litres ... and this was before my second oil change.. this picture is now after that .. so previously I was kinda getting something like 13.5-14... but as of today I can again confirm that MashAllah the economy is now consistently around the 15kmpl mark .... also keep in mind that I have 16inch alloys with 215 tyres ....

you may get this average on a certain occasion, normal average of new Civic is approximately 11/12 local and there is not much difference in auto/manual average. manual may do slightly 1 km more then auto & that's all. . . anyhow, enjoy you magical ride.

For your info sir, in latest civic PT is slightly more fuel efficient than MT. Please check the facts on ground instead of pointing anyone. And he might be getting this average between Isb and Rwp which basically is a kind of long drive with less breaks and stops.

well ,, I didn't put up this post to convince anyone that I have a magic civic , lets just get that out of the way first , secondly, instead of going into lengthy discussions with you , id rather suggest you google some things ,, start from hypermiling and then read up on all major factors that affect fuel consumption of a car ( be it engine oil , fuel quality, tyre pressure, driving style and all )... people are getting 22kmpl on 2.4 accord locally in parts of the world ,, " BE CURIOUS , NOT JUDGEMENTAL " .. hope you get the point

Guys this seems to be a little out of proportion. My 9th gen auto within city (ISB) gives me 9.6-10/km/lit, I am using 17" accord rimz with 215/55/17. On the motorway the best average has been 14, I use a 50-50 mix of Hi-Oct and petrol from caltex, and engine oil from Honda dealership which is drained at 3500 kms. My calculation is as recent as yesterday, the average was 9.7 and my vehicle has clocked 11k kms. What should I do to improve that??????

you can go back to stock rims ,Honda dealership oil is not that great go for mobil 1, you can try and change the petrol pump, keep econ on, tyre pressure at 32 for summers and 34 for winters for local, clean your air filter regularly, and most importantly just make minor modifications in driving style ,, like avoiding excessive acceleration and braking ... hope these things should do the job

finally my uncle bought his civic in silver and now he wants to change tyres and rims, so about tyres I gave him suggestion to go for Yokohama Advan DB (searched from Pakwheels), but i am nill at suggesting Alloy Rims, so need help

Congratulations bro for your new ride. . . don't worry a lot about this tiny remote after all new civic is a Pakistani made product, so buyer must be willing for such kind of surprises. usually if car remote is not working properly is due to weak battery, but you ride is brand new. . .you should check it's battery once. . . and contact with showroom from where you purchase your car, because almost all Honda showroom have repair department and they have electrocutions. . . anyhow! don't forget to share with us how's you experience with the new civic?

Go to Honda 3S anf get service from there. Your warranty will get void if you do otherwise .... and don't be confused buddy, It is just an oil change

So far there is no new about Earth-Dreams engine in Honda Civic, but one thing i am quite sure Honda already been refresh civic once, so they will definitely not give new technology (Earth-Dreams Engine) in current shape civic. . . Earth-Dreams and CVT Transmission can be expected in next generation of Civic, which will be totally redesign and hopefully Honda will display its concept in 2015 or early 2016. . . and one more thing Honda is also planing to develop a two motor version of next generation civic just like plug-in Accord, which they says drive 74km/l. . . that is difficult to believe.

anyhow next generation Honda City is expected with Earth-Dreams technology, because Honda city and Honda fit are based upon same technology, new version of Honda Fit equip with 1.3l Earth-Dreams Engine and with Honda's newly develop Transmission, which Honda says drive 19 to 26 km/l. . . for further details you can visit website. . . honda.co.jp/auto, there you can see what Honda is cooking.

Couple of days before I saw Pakistani manufacture 2012 current Honda Civic 1.8l & Japanese manufacture 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid 1.3l Hybrid side by side. . .

Believe me in spite of being 4/5 years old & above 40 thousand kilometres driven Japanese Civic was giving me great feel of comfort and luxury, lather stitching steering wheel, chairs nicely stitched and soft with good quality fabric, 16 inches standard alloy wheels. Anyhow the thing I want to know is. . .

Is anyone of you has experience to drive civic hybrid 1.3l, how is it acceleration? I mean 1.3l isn't it feel under power? any idea about its fuel average?

How do you compare Japanese made Civic Hybrid with our Local made current Civic?

Of course even a 5 year old imported car is more comfortable than any PKDM. The only concern is getting a good JDM / UKDM in good nick.
They're better value for money, better equipped, more comfortable but only if you buy the car yourself directly from abroad, personally ensure that it passes through customs without any tampering. Then yes, there's nothing like it. Wherever there's a Pakistani involved who has no connection to you, you're doomed. May he be an auction agent, an importer or a customs agent. Every one will try to rip you off.
But if you somehow manage to get an approved used Honda (from a Honda dealership abroad) and ensure that no one will tamper with it at the dry port then you should absolutely consider it.
And if you're considering an imported car, it's best to read the reviews in foreign forums to decide which engine variant is the best because people will be able to guide you better who have had the opportunity to test drive different variants of the same car.
However 1300cc seems to be under powered in such a big car. But you will feel that only when driving on motorways and high speed overtaking.
Please don't buy a JDM from a dealer here. They're the biggest thieves in the country after our dear politicians.

There is some $$$ crap involved in the very decision, CR-Z seemed like a better decision in monetary terminology, if you know what I mean, since there is a lot of import involved.

But don't you think Civic Hybrid will appeal to families who are currently buying Civic. How many people can spend 3 million for their 'shouq' ??? I am not expecting 70-120 units / month for CR-Z.

If they assemble the Civic Hybrid locally , it will cost less than a CR-Z .... and it will appeal to families and people who are buying Civic at the moment ! People who buy car for utility ... if priced around 2.7-2.8 million ...it will be an instant hit in Pak ... that is just my opinion bdw
