I bought them for 9.4k a piece in january 2012, and then for 9.8k a piece in july 2012.

Don't know as of now, must be around 10k something, depending and varying upon location and availability factors.

well if u dont need cruisetronic and sunroof and want to save Rs.230K then go for it
but as far as resale i concerned, vti oriel is better than ivtec

Yes! Oriel has good resale value as compare to i-vtec but now situation is slight different, current i-vtec is not so simple as compare to 8th civic i-vtec,
Well! before buying the car you are thinking of it's resale, this is really good we should keep in view a big picture (after 6month, a year or 2 years etc)
My sincere advise is this if you can afford then go for oriel, even sunroof and cruse control does not matter to you but you will get HID type head lights, fog light, alloy wheels etc. oriel will give you sight VIP feel, You know what i mean? And if you can be satisfied with i-vtec then go head 9th civic i-vtec definitely have a good resale value because it is already expensive and have some modern features.

Guys you must be wonder to see that what a hell is this tax doing here in Honda civic threat.

Some thing really interesting happened to me couple of months before I received an income tax notice it was about the car which I purchased in the mid of 2009, from Honda canal bank and drive that car almost two and half year and then sold out in early 2012. So I appeal against that . . . .

I am not the only one in past few years I heard number of stories like this, people buy a new car & after a year they received an income tax notice.

Honestly speaking this really ruins the pleasure of buying the new car, and I think this information go from showroom to income tax department.

Is someone of you faced this kind of situation? if yes, then how did you handle(paid or appealed) & is there any way to buy the new car but our information remain hide from tax department?

While buying a new HONDA the company requires a NTN Certificate ... NTN means NAtional Tax Number i guess ... so the info is transferd from there

If you buy a car more than 1300cc tax department becomes active.

Recently, we were also stuck in the same confusion. Putting all factors in view, oriel prosmatec was the best we could finalize because climate control, SR, cruise control and a less blank front bumper were too tempting to resist.
