Honda Civic 2018 Oriel 1.8 (Petrol or High Octane)

Hi guys, I’ve used High Octane fuel for a year since I bought my Civic in 2018. However, lately, I’ve been putting Regular Petrol and not HO. It seems fine. What’s your take?

Does it have adverse effects on the engine or not.

Ofcourse, HO is better and preferred but what’s your take?

I know Vezel doesn’t respond to Petrol too well as well as Civic Turbo 2017.

I’m not super car literate so your feedback would be much appreciated.

Just try to get regular fuel from a company operated pump.

No need of high-octane in Oriel/Corolla 1.8 variants. I have driven 10k kms on regular fuel... absolutely ZERO issues
I have seen people putting hobc in Cultus as well..but thats all placebo effect

No need for Hi Octane in Oriel, however if you would like to improve your fuel efficiency then just add hi octane on a ratio for example 70:30.

70% Regular fuel and the 30% Hi Octane.

You used that specific word. I thought you are any medicine guy JO experience share kia ap ney wo tou apni jaga 100% correct hai. Because mostly in general we people think of that hi octance acha petrol hai tou gari k lia acha hota fuel average achi milti gri bhgti hi etc etc, without knowing k gari k engine ko hi octane chae hai k nahi. I used to pour 50 50 in my carby mehru and in result. kuch time k bad engine new dalna parha

Besides more power the other benefit of using HO is maybe that it contains lesser manganese fuel additive, which ordinary fuel has. This additive leaves deposits in engine and catalytic converter.

thats why i wrote the word maybe.

There isnt documented proof though. HOBC contains imported gasoline with higher RON in greater quantity. Its price is no longer regulated by Government so i dont think there is need to put MMT when u can just jack up the price.

Ordinary fuel contains local fuel in greater proportion. Therefore i think it requires more MMT.

You are right, there isn't. But practical application proves otherwise. It's a long debate and requires evidence from my side which I am too lazy to produce right now.
