Honda Civic 2022 11th gen mechanical issues

Hello, recently I’ve driven new Honda Civic that is owned by one of my friends. I have experienced steering that gets stuck at higher speeds and then you to put considerable amount of force to move it. You feel like it’s locked to a position and once you move to different position it gets locked there and when the car is parked and you turn steering it makes weird noises. Is it normal in new civic or my friend got one with the fault?

Definitely not normal get it cheked from dealership as its new car with warranty

What do you mean by steering lock? Does it get completely locked like it gets in every vehicle after it's turned off or you mean the steering becomes hard at highway speeds?

It gets so hard, it feels like as if its locked..

Steering get hard at high speed for stability reasons and this is common in many vehicles.
But hard doesn't mean you wont be able to steer it. You should be able to steer it with medium force.
If it's very hard to steer, then get it inspected asap from dealership since it's a safety hazard

Just came back from Honda dealership and as per them it’s a steering rack issue, same as it was in 10th gen.

That's very unfortunate to hear. They should have fixed this in 11th gen, since this is an old issue.
Honda is behaving like a third world country who don't learn from past incidents

Brother i m also face this ishuu..dealship not listen any thing..they told only that drive car till ishuu and noise come clearly..i m so worried..no body listen..bad experince buy honda civic

Keep driving . Dont worry .

Claim it in next visit. It will.be easily changed

If you're facing this, your steering has been repaired. A known fault in early 2022 models was bad bushes in the rack, instead of claiming it in warranty or contacting Honda about it, people get their racks repaired by roadside suspenion shops, who then hammer new bushes into the rack, making the steering feel what you're feeling. Steering bushes on these cars (including every Civic after reborn) cannot be replaced, instead needs a full steering assembly replacement.
