Hi,
I am also planing to change shocks of my EXI 2003 last changed (Kabli) few months ago from Bilal Gunj Lahore. One got leaked few days ago.

Rate for Kabli is between 6k to 10k

Meanwhile I found following ad on olx. He is asking 14K for set of four and 8K for front without springs.

He is claiming these are genuine from Thailand.

Should I go for these new or for Kabli?

Testing gas shocks is very easy. Place shock in vertical position with shaft facing upward. Now push down the bonnet vigorously 2 to 3 times and then leave it. If the bonnet comes up and then again goes down then shocks are weak. Try to get rebuild shocks which are very good. In Lahore you can get rebuild shocks all four for only Rs 6500 from Bilal Gunj (Romail Butt 03224617296). Test method of rebuild gas shocks is very easy. Just fully press down the shaft of shock and release it, it should not take more than 10 seconds to fully come up. Quicker is more better. If it takes more than 10 seconds then shock is not good, try another one. Both front shocks shafts upward speed should be almost same and there should be no hesitation during upward motion of shaft. Same should be the case with rear shocks. In Karachi there is a very good shock rebuild specialist named Faisal. He sells all four shocks for only Rs 7000. He also deliver shocks to other cities with nominal charges. His contact number is 0331 2425997 . In Lahore you can also get brand new Chinese shocks with warranty. Before buying these shocks try to closely observe the area where the nuts and bolts are supposed to be installed and tightened. If you see the metal sheet pressed where bolts and nuts are being tightened then these are used shocks with new paint, so don't buy them.

KYB shocks Made in Japan are available in lahore from Shakeel autos township. Price 18k for front ones.

The so called chinese shocks with warranty are locally rebuilt and repainted shocks for a fancy price.

Shakeel autos in township also sells kabli shocks with one month warranty. There is a very good machinist in township lahore who sells rebuild shocks. All four shocks for Rs 10000. I am using his front shocks for last 3 months and these are going very good. His name is Ammant 03219471270.

Rs 5000 for front shocks with 3 months warranty. Go on college road from Akbar chowk and when you reach Butt chowk then take left turn. After half KM travel a road crossing comes. You take right turn and go back and on left the second shop is of Ammanat Machinist.

You can also see his video on U tube where he is demonstrating Honda civic shocks rebuilding procedure. I talked to him and found him very nice with very good knowledge. I am planning to buy rear shocks from him for my Honda civic exi 2006.

Try to buy rebuild shocks without fitted spring as it is not possible to check shocks before installation on car and if you are not satisfied with the feel of rebuild shocks then you may waste the fitting labor.

Experts...pease advise...2005 Vti and Exi share same shocks or different. I have noted Exi has soft suspension whereas Vti has stiffer. I got mixed opinion from different shock repair shops.

In my opinion there is no difference between EXI and VTI shocks ride. Sometime the tires are of different brands with different softness which may confuse some people.

WITH THE GRACE OF ALMIGHTY ALLAH....i have sold my 7th gen civic. its a pain to keep it in top notch condition as this model has completed 13 years of age and now too old and has aged alot.
