If your car is Prosmatec the revs will cut off at around 5k at 'P' and 'N'.

The rev limit in D2, D3 is around 6600~6700rpms.

Btw never rev an auto car in 'N' unless you want to cook the transmission very soon.

no cut off in cars with cng so dont try above 6500 if it is fitted with cng

Coz mere paas jo Civic hy oss main engine Japan se imported laga hua hay and air filter box b vahin wala laga hua hay and Yahan se jo airfilter lo wo sahi nahi betheta box main

I have a civic 2005 vti manual petrol driven. Been with us for 4 years. Lately, I have witnessed some problem in the car. The rpm of the car used to be within 800-900 on a fully warmed up engine. But now the rpm has become a bit unstable and reaches 1100. Moreover, I had also noticed that the car is not reaching its operating temperature and the fan also keeps turning on frequently. I did replace the thermostat valve but still to no advantage. Earlier back, a dead cold engine used to reach the optimum temperature within 5 minutes of idle startup.

Experts please help. As a result of all this, my fuel economy has badly deteriorated

High rpms is due to cold engine.

Check thermostat if its of this car or if its Genuine Honda Part or not.

Premature opening of Tstat valve leads to delayed warmup and failure to reach optimum operating temperature

Test the t-stat valve for opening closing temp by immersing it into hot water. Test the ect sensor for correct resistance. Check if the iacv is stuck or smoothly operating

Most probably the ect sensor is faulty. Rest of the checks r preventive maintenance
