Yea honda is sensitive for PSF and ATF. Only Honda fluid to be used. In engine oil i guess Shell 5W30 is good else Havoline Formula 10W30

I was using Honda PSF but still my power steering pump is showing some warning symptoms. Recently it started leaking and i got the seals changed.
I always use Honda 5w30 for engine, Previous owner was using shell 5w30

Yea the car has no check lights. Every thing working. Michelin XM2 tires installed by owner a year ago. Trunk had can of Shell blue bottle 5W30. Suspension is good but might need bushing.

Get it inspected too from mechanic before finalizing. Good luck

PS pump doesn't go bad if you are using honda PSF. Leaks can happen but its due to seals of PSP and can be replaced easily

Assalamualikum Everyone! I had an issue regarding engine heat up and its's a long story so kindly read and advise accordingly.
I went to Islamabad on 30th June from Lahore via Motorway. Car performed perfect. Mileage was 10 km/l. Stayed there for 3 days and came back on 3rd July. Checked everything before leaving, oils, water levels etc. Speed was 130 -140 throughout the journey till Sial Rest Area, the first stop I had. Right after leaving Sial, the temperature gauge started going up. I stopped the car (Turned off the engine, my mistake), refilled water in radiator, started driving again. after a kilometer or so, the gauge went up again. I did that mistake again and turned off the engine. Checked water level again and it was down. Then I noticed that the pipe coming from reserve water bottle was removed. I put it in its place, tightened it and started refilling water. but every time I poured water it came out as its boiling. Called FWO mobile workshop. The mechanic came and after checking it thoroughly, he said the head gasket is blown, you have to tow the car or you'll cease your engine. My father insisted that do something so we can keep driving at 70 - 80 without turning the AC on and reach home. He made the fan direct, removed thermostat valve and told us to go and refill water at every stop. I started driving again, checked water at next 3 stops but it was fine. The heat gauge stayed below normal i.e it want up just a quarter. I increased my speed to 100, everything went fine. I turned my AC on, still everything was fine and I came back. Next day, I took it to my local mechanic, a very trust worthy guy. He said there's a possibility that head gasket is blown but we have to open the head to check that. I came back that day. It was the last day he poured some water in it even the water was full. It's been 20 days, car is being driven daily, without thermostat valve, direct fan, with AC, water level is exactly the same.

Kindly advise me that should I go for the head gasket change? Or just put the thermostat valve back in place and keep going.

Brother cooling system is very important so don't risk it. Get the head gasket checked from reliable mechanic. Or you can get things checked from Honda and get it confirmed.
Head gasket leak means mixing of oil and water which is very bad for car and can seize engine too. Head gasket is a must. Get head gasket changed, check radiator cap too sometimes it is also cause of throwing water to bottle thus decreasing water in radiator, Pour Zic coolant after radiator work
You can check if head gasket is leak yourself, open radiator cap and there will be symptoms like oil residue etc

Yesss I forgot to mention, the radiator cap was faulty and it still is. And as I mentioned earlier that the water in radiator is perfectly fine and full.

Brother get it replaced urgently, But brother still get head gasket checked incase. Once in my old Alto (first car) i ignored the issue and later had ended up my car being at H mark and after that day i felt car engine to be weak after getting work done.
Get Radiator cap changed (good cap is very important, try to go for genuine if affordable) , Goto Honda and get it confirmed if head gasket is blown or not and get it changed from outside if cost difference is very high with good quality items. Flush radiator and pour coolant. In shaa Allah issue will be resolved
You don't really see the radiator issue in short drives. Once you go for relatively longer drives you see the issues.

VTI gives better mileage than EXI as per my info
I have civic VTI Manual 2002 model it gives 9-10km/L with AC if driven only locally and 12Km/L when driven with AC on Islamabad highway (not motorway)
Car is very comfortable. After driving civic daily, i drove Honda city 2016 and it was very uncomfortable for me. Also after i drove Toyota corolla 2015 model though was comfortable than City but not comparable to Civic.

kabuli rack costs 3500 and ps 4000

if you are going for kabuli...just make sure few things...don't put crv shocks they are hard and meant for a heavy vehicle and cannot give you a comfortable ride....

ask for civic shocks with thinner rod/strut and springs....better to take out your original shocks and compare with the one you are getting....people don't get soft ride after putting kabuli is due to crv shocks which has heavy strut/rod and heavy springs ....you may have noticed that most of the cars with kabuli shocks have increased ride height...its due to wrong shocks coming out of crv...

when you will compare yourself you can easily differentiate between its thickness or can use vernier caliper .... hopefully you will not regret after getting the rightly matched part...rear pair should cost you 4000-4500 max....

if your springs are ok...better use those springs with new kabuli shock....its actually springs which make ride stiffer and increase height...

Thanks for detailed reply. I am not inclined towards crv as a little alteration is also required according to my mechanic. One more thing, fuel filter of this model is located in rear left side? I have no clue of its condition and might change it soon. After how many km's it should be changed and cost??

Depends on the quality of fuel used but better change it after 100k. Malaysian filter will cost around 700 Rs. if I remember correctly. OEM will cost minimum 5000, so go for the 700 one.

if you have eagle eye/facelift car then there is only one filter under the back seat. this filter is only for earliest models.

the internal filter of facelift costs 5000 and the exterior filter of pre-facelift is very cheap.
