Symptoms: Hard shifting Gear 1[SUP]st[/SUP] to 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and feeling hesitation in shifting.
TEST:
Start the car and wait for normal temperature (9 Bars on temperature indicator and Fan should be turn ON). Tyre pressures should be normal as company recommendation. Now car is ready for testing.
--Find smooth road. Drive the car with normal foot, when speed reach on 17km/h then focus on shifting. At 18/19 Km/h car will shift to 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] gear. Car is hesitating in shifting (It is not very hard but noticeable). I tried 3, 4 times and felt same behaviour.
--Find speed bump. Drive car in 45-60km/h until you reach on speedbump, now here is a tricky part. Reduce the speed and cross speedbump, as front wheels crossed the bump the speed should be 26-29km/h now at this point press the accelerator with medium foot. As paddle pressed, ?Click? sound felt from hood (Driver side). Repeat this test for 3, 4 times.
Note:- While testing switch OFF the AC, Sound system and close all windows.
Result: Change transmission OIL (with original Honda Oil) and Clean the solenoid.
To remove the engine cowling, first remove all plastic holders and screen washer pipe. As showed in figure.
After removing the engine cowling.
Remove Battery terminal (-) for safety.
Remove the Air filter.
Then remove Air filter box. There are 2 screws (10 number) to remove Air filter box.
Now you can see the Gearbox solenoid (A and B).
Cover the wiring with clean cloth before removing the solenoid. Solenoid is installed with 6 screws; Remove it as I used 10 number T shape tool.

After removing the solenoid, I covered that area to protect from dust particles.
Solenoid filters are blocked with black particles. Let start to clean solenoid.
Before cleaning, just make sure the solenoid is good or need to be change with original one. You need a multi meter to check the solenoid. In my case this is perfect. Value should be >4 and <6.
Remove the Solenoid gas kit and Steel pipes.
I used WD40 for cleaning. Clean all pipes filter and O rings. For cleaning the solenoid I used following procedure.
-First clean it with clean cloth and WD40.
-Now fill Oil supply area with WD40 (as mentioned in figure) then apply 12 volt on solenoid terminal.
-Apply 12 volt for 2 seconds then invert its polarity.
-Do it for 4, 5 times (both solenoids).
-Now clean and fill it again.
-Repeat this procedure 4, 5 times.
Now solenoid is cleaned, install O ring and Pipe.
After cleaning and installing the filters.
Solenoid has some adjustment for quick shifting. If you need to adjust then you need some special tool. Unfortunately I don?t have special tool that?s why I could not try it. But if you have and want to try then first mark it on original position (In some cases you want original setting then it will help you).
Installing the solenoid and wiring harness.
Install Air filter Box.
Connect battery terminals.
Change the Gear Oil (Original) and Gear Filter also.
Now test drive and you will feel smooth shifting without ?Cluck? sound.
