Honda Civic 8th Generation (Reborn) - Common problems

So i was coming from Islamabad-Lahore. Where i encountered heavy fog somewhere near sheikhupura. I tried turning on the front and back glass defroster but it didn't worked. What should i do now ?

the most efficient and finest way is to move air vents to windscreen, temprature between hot and cold and OPEN the outside air.

let the magic happen. if you use AC to clear fog inside car you will freeze yourself also its the most inefficient way.

Mounts issue is also present in 9th gen. Other then that no issue, 9th gen had bit softer suspension then 8th gen.

Well i think that can be said for 8th gen because of the beautiful problems it keeps giving.

Actually there are very small precautionary measures to take car of these things....just keep the tensioner away from water and mine lasted 197000 kms and that is when it started giving a very nominal sound...for the mount have replaced the oil mount twice....changed it with china first that was my bad but that also lsted arnd 20k kms....ps is the only issue that i actually concider an issue but wow we also have the option to change to eps

the biggest and greatest edge 8th gen has over 9th and 10th gen is Hydraulic Power Steering.
on top of that the driving position is absolutely fabulous. Honda improved after 7th gen by introducing 8th gen but after 8th gen TO ME civic went down with 9th gen.

I am talking about PKDM aswell as global civic models in these generations.

Yes it comes with problems but we are talking about a honda here that too a PKDM. Not a Merc or BMW. Parts are very reasonable and HONDA pakistan live sup to expectation of ever lasting support in terms of parts.

MY manual gear stick is gone slightly rought and has bit of scratches, i inquired a new manual gear knob and go tto know its only 3 thousand rupees from dealership. OEM gear knob for 3000 rupees. Bought Pedal rubber pads for 80 rupees each from dealership. Great prices. Best thing about Japanese PKDM cars is ever lasting support.

A non Jap car would ask for bottom less account including a kidney.

Does the auto tensioner cause any vibration in the car like the engine mount.

With your civic, you have to keep your accelerator pressed all the time to maintain a steady speed. On a long drive, the foot gets tired as well.
On a cruise, you don’t need to press the accelerator but your car will maintain a steady speed. Plus you can increase and decrease the speed of car from buttons on your staring.
No tiredness. No effort.

Not every part is at dirt cheap price for example engine mounts rest , I can't say much since I didn't owned it my friend had Reborn non oriel Auto tranny they purchased very slighly used around 10k driven used just 1 years used car around 8 year ago in 2011 (model 2010) ,they sold it 2 years ago & he use to say to me from Day 1 this car was giving them problems & problems they got too tired getting it fixed wheras I haven't heard this much issues with 9th gen rest Everyone has there own opinion this can be a never ending argument though I have also heard & agree 8th gen does have that Driver's car feeling ,but 9th gen is more towards comfort just preference brother.Rest if u want to correct me u can since u own this thing.

My car has rpm on 3 when im driving in 120kms.i have discussed this with friends.they said it must not exceed to 2.5
Kindly tell me what should i do?

its absolutely fine. Manuals revs higher thn the auto.

bear in mind Prosmatec has 4 forward gears and 1 reverse so it does 120 in slightly lower RPM whereas the Manual has 5 Speed forward gear. it does 3k RPM on 120km.

Guide and teach your friend about him being wrong.

A bit of correction here Haseeb Bhai. 8th Gen Civic Prosmetec has a 5 speed (i.e. 5 forward gears) autobox. It is because of the 5th gear (I refer to it as the extra cog in the tranny) that the engine revs at around 2,000 at 100 km/h.

ohhh i see. I did a little more reading turns out the honda city is 4 speed forward not civic... my bad and thanks for correcting me.

But manual do behave at 3k at 120km/h and auto tranny keepit between 2.5k ish.

1. I own a civic 2007, manual variant. I read the thread and want to know if the tensioner is the same as what the mechanics call a part as adjuster. That part has a belt over it and there is a noise gari k pick mein and I’m facing the same issue in my civic 9th gen.
2. Apart from this my car is approaching 100k kms so I’m worried about the cat. The guy who provides service for cat told me to get it serviced once it is choked not as a precaution so it doesn’t choke.
   Please help me out with these 2 problems.

For cat use motor clean. I did and it helped.
