Honda Civic 8th vs 9th gen

I have been wondering why do most people I have seen on the forums prefer the 8th gen civic ( reborn) over the 9th gen? I haven't owned either of the two but always wondered what is so special/better about the reborn that the 9th gen doesn't beat?

Only one word... LOOKS... There is a huge difference of looks and reborn takes the lead when it comes to it

8th Gen has a class which 9th Gen doesn't. Even though 9th Gen is more fuel efficient and has a lot of features, it lacks the special feeling the 8th Gen gives. Road presence of 8th Gen is way superior to that of 9th. True driving pleasure is only there in the 8th Gen when the two are compared. The only problem with 8th Gen is that it is too old now, the newest one can get will be of 2012 year but I know that if I ever buy a Civic again, it will be the 8th Gen or "Reborn" as many call it.

the difference is that 8th gen civic is a real civic and 9th gen civic is basically a glorified corolla! plus 9th gen has confused styling! both have R18 under their hood!
