It's not gonna be my first time owning a 9th Gen, I do own one currently. It's a 2013 Civic VTi Oriel manual transmission in silver colour. I bought it back in August of 2016 with 58k kms on the odometer and now it's at 73k kms. Honestly speaking, it's the best car under 2million PKR which comes with a factory fitted immobilizer. The only reason I chose the Civic over a Corolla was because of the immobilizer issue. Since I've grown tired of changing gears in rush hour traffic, I've decided to replace it with an automatic Civic.

Experience has been good so far apart from some quality issues like too much creaking noise from the arm rest area etc. The manual transmission is a real treat if you drive on motorway or GT road; it feels very responsive.

Unfortunately I have to drive in the rush hour so manual is not an option for me. It takes a toll on you, having to change gears so frequently in a jam or a signal, so I am looking for a prosmatec option.

Currently I own a 2010 Reborn and IT IS EXPENSIVE. Not the fuel part, I'm ok with the fuel economy. Its the maintenance. It feels like having a white elephant with its hydraulic steering issues, the axle joints, the belt tensioner. To top it off I got hit in the trunk a month ago and it started squeaking on speed bumps. Had to get that sorted out as well.

I'm happy to spend 18 - 19 on a well maintained 2013-14 Rebirth, preferably oriel prosmatec. I'm just confused about the car's actual price. I dont want to sound like an a**hole if I offer 18 to a guy who's thinking 22.

I understand; I'm of the same view. I'm in A levels and driving the car during rush hour traffic takes a toll on you. Couple this with the incoming summer weather and it doesn't make for a pleasant experience. I bought it to have fun using the manual transmission, but it's been the opposite.
I own another car too which is a 2007 Civic Hybrid MXST. I've never had any mechanical related issues with that car. I bought it back in 2015 with only 70k kms on the odometer and now it has 205k kms on the clock. I've been amazed how well put together the car is. I've taken the car to all kinds of roads and it still drives like it did when it was only 70k kms driven. I've had it maintained from Honda Center Peshawar Road along with my 9th Gen Civic. I've experienced the belt tensioner issue; it makes a really pitch squeal when starting from cold during the morning. Just keep in mind one thing, the local 8th and 9th Gen Civic have only cosmetic differences. Both are badly put together vehicles with no quality control from factory. I've experienced a very annoying squeaking noise from the arm rest area which I've never been able to resolve. On the other hand, my Civic hybrid is as silent as a mouse.

The creaking noise from arm rest is present in all 9th gens.

I never observed cracking sound in my 2016 civic.Its 25k done so far. 9th gen civic build quality is many times better then civic x.

I forget to mention ... it was there from 2012-2014 atleast.
Might have been rectified later.

Cracking sound? Damn man I hope you never experience a cracking sound in any of your cars.

I felt when i pressed window button of driver side and window closes then also it feels like door card is poorly built, it was 2013 model may be the rectified it in late 2015-16 models which are last model of 9th gen.

HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA...true that...no one wants any CRACKING sounds in any car:joy:

I have a 2015 model and can confirm my arm-rest too creaks..like a lot. A quick fix I found was using double-sided tape just below the moving parts around the circumference. It is inconspicuous and effective.

Same here. Whole door card seems to bulge in and out when the window is being raised or lowered. Even my 1995 Civic has better build quality than my 2013 Civic.

Hello Fellows, I am about to buy 2013 9th Gen CIVIC with good engine and body condition. But before that I want to get honest opinion about fuel average from owners. Please let me know whats the real fuel average in city as well on motorway/Gt Road for auto as well manual. Also let me know should I go for this ride? Thanks.

I have a 2014 9th gen, i depends who is driving, i get 10~11 in city and 14~16 in GT road and 14 on motor ways, i sometime achieved 18km on GT road by driving only on 90~100 km/hr. do note its a 80k driven vehicle.

I get between 8-9 km/l in the city with my 2013 Civic VTi Oriel manual transmission. I've gotten almost 14km/l on the expressway sometimes, but usually it's less than 12. Mine is 73k driven atm

For improving mileage do following things;
1) Use fuel injector cleaner 500 KM before every oil change.
2) Use engine flush twice a year to remove varnish, carbon deposits from entire engine parts and unblock oil retaining piston rings.
3) Tune engine and adjust intake and exhaust valves clearances.
4) Use low viscosity engine oil preferably zic 5w/20 for optimum performance.
5) Perform wheel alignment.
6) Keep tire air pressure in between 30 to 32 psi.
7) Keep air filter clean.
8) Don't race car uselessly.
9) Stop engine on long traffic light signals.
10) Check PCV (positive crankcase ventilation valve). Clean or replace it if found choked.

i have 9th gen 2013 oriel with manual trans . it is very responsive and powerful giving me easily 12km/l and on motorway 15-16 .It has done 133k without any problem uptil now. Its a tough car . i have kept other Civics as well but i found it much better built car.
