I am experiencing a problem with 2015 rebirth.
My fault: in over confidence or ignorance I couldnāt check coolant level and seldom lay checked coolant by opening radiator cap which was found ok except 2 weeks back once I switched on AC in Islamabad for the first time. The level was a bit low in radiator and once checked reservoir it was dry. Cursed myself.
Went to G10 I was told that radiator cap is bad as itās lowest small disc was partially broken. Replaced the radiator cao supposedly Japanese with blue sticker. I went over conscious and started to check water/ coolant repeatedly but never found it full. I have traveled around 2000 km in the same state as had to travel due Eid etc. Went from isloo to Multan the reservoir (checked with wet marks on inner black tube) level was down by an inch or so and got to the same mark to which I filled in Islamabad by pouring in half a glass.
Today Honda workshop was closed. Visited another mechanic. He thoroughly checks plugs etc and said gasket is fine. He removed thermostat valve and checked for any bubbles etc again he said gasket is fine. He said if gasket was bad it couldnāt have traveled this much.
He said just remove thermostat valve to which I didnāt agree.
He topped up coolant in several iterations by saying that probably I didnāt tipped it up earlier properly and there could have been air in the system.
I am totally lost ..... if gasket is fine. There is no leak
Radiator cap replaced which definitely I would get replaced with genuine Honda as well what else could be reason.
There is no smoke from exhaust, there is no mist in exhaust, there are no coolant traces on the plugs, there is no leak (visible). What could be the issue. Is it that simple to blame this radiator cap?
Please help. Canāt say more. Sorry if itās too long a story.
