yes, it was the danger of hydrolocking, thats why did not crank the engine till i got home. opened up the plugs and then cranked the engine.

hopefully the car will have no major issues inshallah! be very careful and observant when you start using it again! and since you have the thing opened up look for wires that are either broken or have damaged insulation and repair them then and there!

To test injectors, power side is constant and supplied from main relay, the switched side from ecu is tested with led and resistor, it will blink when plugged to injector while cranking

This honda has a start signal switch which forces the ecu to fire all injectors in unison to start the engine, if that wire is broken due to security system etc it wont start

Usually secrity system also cuts fuel pump power

Sir i m no expert but i dont think Steelmate 838 is am immobilizer. although the wires should be checked as far is any water damage and short circuit is concerned,

There is a shop in magazine Lane plaza market for ecus. That man has ecus for almost all pakisani cars. I once inquired a civic 8th gen ecu from him and it was available. If you bring him your ecu, he also does repair work. The guy's name is Tahir. When you go to magazine Lane and ask for him by name, almost every shop knows where he is and can guide you. I had his business card but couldn't find it right now. Will post his contact details as soon I find his card.

but did find a semi melted, still working fuse of the 838g security system.

Don't understand that because my 2 door lock actuator relays were burned because of rain and they did not blow the fuse but make the door lock actuator motor stuck. But last time I got the relay in upper side of driver's dashboard so Alhamdullilah after this rain my door locks are working perfectly. The relays got melted but didn't blew fuse.

was using the 838 as a lock/unlock.

the fuel pump was wired through another timer chor switch, which escaped the flooding.

the 838 does not work any more. have cleaned it though.

GOOD NEWS

after another washing of the ECU with petrol this time... ( i was not at home, father brought an electrician) and further clean up of the distributor and plugs, the car started up.

as far as i have checked, all functions are working OK now. the AC blower redirection motor appears to be stuck.
drove the car around. plenty of noises. some wheel arch rusting has been aggravated.

one of the bearings in the engine bay is literally screaming. I am hoping its just the AC idler pulley bearing.

i think the original fuse is overrated. will check how much current each actuator draws and then add another inline fuse with each actuator

the reason for not blowing a fuse is the fuse installed is most probably of a higher rating! check for the fuse rating on the back of the fuse box cover!

Allah ka shukar it is moving on its own power now! drive carefully and observe any changes in acceleration, fuel average, idling etc

Really glad to hear that your car is coming back to life bit by bit.
Just want to draw your attention to an important point here regarding cleaning of ecu. Use of solvents, liks brake cleaner etc., would have probably removed the protective conformal coating applied over the PCB. It is, therefore, highly recommended to reapply it after the repair job, if any required.
This will ensure that the ecu can withstand such unforeseen and unavoidable harsh weather conditions.

The relays got melted but didn't blew fuse.

thats backwards - the fuse is supposed to blow/melt before the relays catch fire.

whats your take on epoxy coating the ECU?

ressichem in karachi makes epoxy for electronics. i think its the same thing which is used to coat the CDI units of motorcycles.

any one have any idea which alternator was used in this model of PKDM civic.

from internet, i think there is a mitsubishi made alternator (identified on honda parts now) as well as a nippon denso one.

the bearings of the alternator are shot. and screaming. i have identified the mitsubishi alternator bearings. can buy them easily.

but not sure if nippon denso has same bearings. dont want to open up the alternator and then hunt bearings, or end up with chinese bearings from a nearby shop

Check if there is any label or parts number on the alternator you have. if what you have is a Mitsubishi One you will have to replace it. if have the part number @nfssaad bhai take it to Nisar Autos at plaza they will have the genuine bearing for the thing

also if any one knows a denter that uses ELECTRIC welding / Grinder for replacing rusted metal.

rear wheel arches were a little rusted, but the dunking in sewerage water has accelerated it 10 times.

gas welding is messy, and not strong either. causes more damage to the surrounding metal as well.

I have seen some denters near "Saddar" who use electric welding but have no Experience with them! if you have seen "Chullu Kabab Sistani" near that. Sewerage water will accelerate the rusting. it also depends on the gauge of the metal sheet these denters are using!
