Honda civic fuel filter

Hello everyone.
I just bought a civic 2013 model. Took it to honda for 40000km inspection and they asked me to change its fuel filter without even checking if it needs replacement or not.
What do you guys suggest? Does it really need replacement at 40000km or not?
If not, when should it be replaced?

It is mandatory to change it after 40k as recommend by Honda.

No nothing will happen if you don't change it till much later. This is Honda's way of milking their customers.

Check the owner manual or service schedule for when fuel filter needs replacing

Depends on how car was kept
If car was driven in rural areas on bad fuel
Or parked for long durations
Change on schedule(a bad filter will put load on pump n blow it up)
Else i witnessed fuel filter being changed at 1 lac km's for the first time even
