Let me say that making a oil filter is not a rocket science or hidden secret anymore. Guard filters are equally good as compared to genuine ones. The only important thing inside a oil filter is the filtration medium i.e, paper. Guard is very well reputed local company and it won't compromise on quality. The reason why genuine filter looks better is that it is being polished from exterior which makes it more shinny. But what to do with shine when it is being treated with black oil. So I advice you to go for Guard filters always and support your local industry products. Let me tell you once thing a very close relative of mine produce rubber parts for Guard filters and he is the main supplier to Guard company. He once disclosed me that there are two type of filters being produced in Guard, one which are printed with genuine monogram and second one with Guard monogram while the material being used in both filters is 100% same. These are produced as per the request of big car manufacturing companies like suzuki, toyota and honda. So these big companies rip off your pockets just for the printing difference. Rest is your decision.
Yes I totally agree, ran my car 300k km on guard filters
Please stop using leppon nippon tampon etc

Go for the guard one its same in quality with less price.
this guard filter in pic cant seriously be newlooks like a used and washed and cleaned one
a genuine new guard filter is enough for 5000 drain interval
but i read oil filter is the most imp thing for engine maintenance and a good one should me used
please if some one could do a detailed analysis that would be great.
im using suzuki oil filterwhich have 2 oil change intervals.after 2 oils change it needs to be changed
My Mehran has clocked nearly 122k. Using guard oil filter on every oil change, no problem till date. But make sure that you buy it from a well reputed retailer. As brother @hash4u stated that it can't be new. Make sure that the oil changer unpacks the filter infront of you and don't have the condition as in above picture.
