We recently bought a Civic Reborn Oriel and it only goes up to 3500 rpm and it acts like that it is hitting a rev limiter. It is a manual. Suggestions?
Car would be in limp mode. Hook up an obd2 scanner to see what's wrong with it.
i think while in P mode the car wont hit rev limit on standstill, if it shows same bahvior in D mode then plz follow the above proceedre
U cannot try higher rpms on P or manual car when idle
There is limiter around 4k rpm in all civics while in P mode or stand still position .
However, you must drive on cleqr Road to see whether this effect stays like this or not
It evens hit the limiter while driving
bad coils or plugs
I had a similar issue in my 04 city, turns out the plug were covered in oil because tappet seal was leaking. It just wouldn't cross 3000 rpm or go beyond 40.
When driving this should not be the case unless there is a rev limiter
Bro I talked to my mechanic and Electrician it is some sort of fuel cut. You need to get a device that bypasses the fuel cut. But it would affect your mileage heavily.
Bro
The mechanic and lektrishann you talked to are crackheads. Your ecu is stuck in low power limp mode if this cut happens while driving. Check why its stuck and fix it, fuel cut will go away.
I figured it out. It was the vtec sensor.
Whats a vtec sensor?
You mean the vtec solenoid?
