Hello Pak Wheelers
I have Civic RS Turbo 2019, now driven 70K kms. I purchased it new from dealership in July 2019.
From last 6 months, I have noticed that the engine has started knocking a lot so much so that it now does not make only a tik tik sound rather a complete repeated stutter which keeps going on until the RPMs are increased above 2000 through a gear down from paddle shifter. It always happen at around 2000 rpms when you press the throttle a little more than you would usually do in normal drive. It is extremely annoying now and definitely worrisome as well.
I have already done the following maintenance and checks for reference
- Air Filter / Oil etc is all new
- Various Hi Octane fuels tried + STP Octane booster to no avail / same result
- Spark plugs are new (Although previous set was okay, but I replaced preventively just recently)
- Throttle body recently serviced
- Cat Converter recently cleaned, it is all clear
The tik sound around 2000 rpms used to happen less frequently and without loss of power before as well. But now this is a regular affair.
Honda dealership has nothing to help, all ECU check etc. come up fine. They always recommend the engine cleaner which I have run through the tank multiple times but no improvement.
Please recommend if I need to get the car retuned or is there any other solution?
Any turbo owner facing the same issue?
Are engine hotspots due to carbon deposits the only reason for such an increase in knocks or there can be other factors?
Any information / support will be highly appreciated.
Regards
