Honda Civic Steering Conversion HPS to EPS

So i have recently noticed that my car is droping oil and upon further inspection it seems like something wrong with the power steering hydraulic pump which is a very common problem in reborn. I was mentally prepared for it and has already gone through few postings over it so without any doubt i will be going with an option of getting HPS replaced with an EPS. Any pakwheeler can guide where to get it fixed from in Karachi and an estimated cost? will be appreciated if the workshop is tried and tested personally. JazakAllah.

Got it done some 3 years ago.
Bolt on fit of JDM civic assembly, costed me 25k.
Current rate is around 30k.

Yes everything included. Make sure to get complete unit with uncut wiring.

EPS on 8th gen civic is unlike the silky soft EPS you get in newer cars. Its on the harder side. I have felt very slight difference between the old HPS. Its equally responsive there is no feeling of disconnect from the road

Got an estimate of 20k in RWP
13k for the unit and 7k for mechanic and electrician labour.
This was around 6 months ago

thanks Ali. previously i was driving honda city idsi...eps on that was smooth as silk...i noticed reborn steering is harder as compare to city...and still failed to understand how come a newer model car has an older technology....anyways eps is the only solution unfortunately.

when you say slight difference between old hps and eps..does this mean eps is more smoother/lighter than hps or otherwise?

Thanks Emad..I got the same estimate from a friend who got this job done for his civic but i doubt now seeing the price hikes.

Its slightly lighter but an unknown driver wouldnt be able to tell the difference.

Just remove the pump and reseal it, the kit is cheap.

The high pressure pipe will be ok probably. The usual case is a leaking suction pipe, which is way way cheaper than Rs 30,000/-

any ideas on replacing a ek 96-00 civic rack with EPS?

The price of repair is low but the procedure is very long you have to spend a full day at mechanic's workshop or even you have to let your car stay over night there. I have a bad experience of leaving the car at the workshop someone stole gear cover and never admitted it

I wouldnt go for a repair option as it has no durablity.. most of the folks here are saying the problem comes again after sometime...i talked to a friend in person also who resealed it but it was of no use and the problem arisen again...till date he is living with it...I will replace HPS with EPS to kill the problem once and for all.

such problem recurrance in Honda Power steering is due to poor workman ship not priming the pump after repair and putting it back in the car. Honda Hydraulic Power steering pump repair is tricky, the replacement of parts is blind man job priming the pump at installation is Superman task
