Grande is a smaller car, the cabin space in a civic is far more. Also the driving pleasure and suspension dynamics of the civic are amazing. Yes the corolla has softer springs, but it also has a high center of gravity and a lot more body roll.. that makes a driver very hesitant

Corolla isn't that much smaller and some people do have problems with head room in the back seats. Driving pleasure doesn't matter for 95% of the people and due to softer suspension and increased body roll it is more comfortable than civic.

Also if you're trying to be a racing driver, on the streets, in a economy car, I'd recommend rethinking your life choices.

this is incorrect, the corolla has more leg space, both in the front and in the back. Plus the low seats of the civic make it into a nightmare for people with weak knees or those who are overweight

Don't get me wrong Civic is obviously a great car but just as means of transportation civic is not better than corolla. Id get a civic over a grande but there is a reason historically Corolla has enjoyed better sales in Pakistan.

Corolla has enjoyed better sales because of variants like XLi and GLi. For every 10 Civic X I see on the road, there is 1 or 2 Grandes. It’s downright insulting when you buy a car for 40 lac, it looks identical to a variant that’s 15 lac cheaper and is being used as a Careem taxi.

That is why i said historically. Since the 10th gen civic has seen higher sales figures than the Corolla 1.8 not only in Pakistan but also most of the world.

Dont want to be biased but please compare 1.8L Corolla sale figures with Civic only. You will find out instantly that 1.8L Corolla variants had the poorest of market value until the 11th gen Corolla 1.8L variants came that enjoy a somewhat better sales but still nowhere close to the civic sales. The ratio of Civic:Grande is easily 5:1 even today.

Please dont include the xli/gli teen dabba sale figures and start comparing them with that of Civic.

That's the problem. People want to be seen as above the average person from afar. You'll have to get close to a Corolla to see which one it is however Civic is distinct from City. I don't agree with that but that's what the market demands.

Apart from reliability and comfort, currently Grande offers more value for money ...with its features and better transmission atleast againt Oriel.one... i always hated Corolla till FL was laucnhed and thanks to Atlas for creating a flagship with lot of issues..at the end.. value for money matters

Dont know if its improved or not but Civic is the best seller in 1.8 segment. Thats a fact. Why? Because people who spend this much money want something that stands out.

Grande, with my due apologies doesnt stands out from the rest of the Corolla lineup.

I have been through this. I had a 2016 preFL Grande the one that was launched with grey rims. I sold it after a few months. The main reason was that half of my relatives thought its a Gli until I told them ‘bhai ye mehengi wali hai.’ I got the FL 1.6 now and am happy because it is what it is.

People dont care how much better a Grande is, and I agree its a good car. But as long as it doesnt stand out from rest of the lineup Im sorry its a pass for me and many others.
