It's not just Pakistani awaam, it's all over the world and this is basic human nature. Like I said earlier, and will repeat again, aesthetics play a big role in car purchase decision - just like it matters in purchase of any other material item (cellphones, accessories, house, clothes, shoes etc etc).

So when you value the looks so much when you buy almost anything be it a house or clothes (dare I say, a wife?) , why you find it degrading when people value it when buying a car?

Most turbos out there on the road are sluggish.
People don’t maintain their cars properly.
If there is a turbo that is well maintained and producing optimum power then only it can beat the A6 or match it.
A3s , A4s and A5s which are 1.4 turbo are no match for the 1.5 civic turbo.

hes full bolt-on with ktuner custom tune map with ethanol, using conti sport contact 5 225/45 R17.

(y) ok so that means, remapping plus some hardware change and tyres?
btw is maxpower good for this kind of stuff? and if yes then there is a question of warranty void aswell.

A3 here is not 1.4T, theres 1.8T or 1.2T.....1.8T being discontinued but its quicker than stock civic turbo.

@usman1texh has done everything from maxpower, yes would need supporting mods to increase power with the tuning maps.

Oh right. Yes 1.8 t would be definitely faster than a stock 1.5 turbo

A6 is neck to neck, it jumps a car length ahead due to its 320NM torque on a drag

I'm pretty sure civic has more leg space.. but lets say it does not. Atleast it is much wider so all occupants can sit comfortably.

I was travelling to Islamabad from Lahore and around sukheki, I saw a white A6 speeding behind me on the third lane. Unfortunately there was a motherlover dheet insaan driving at a speed of 100km in the 3rd lane and NOT MOVING out of the way. The A6 closed up to my bumper and started flashing and honking.. At that moment the dheet pakora woke up and moved out the way. The A6 still knocking on my ass to get out of the way, I fully depressed the throttle and launched and he followed suit.. slowly but surely my turbo started putting quite a distance between us and eventually I let my foot off the throttle and gave up the lane. I had a huge smile on my face when I saw the speedo clocked me at 188 Km/h in such a short burst.

The corolla has more space for three to sit in the back, as well as more leg space in the front.
You can fanboy all you want, but that doesn't change facts, if you don't believe, go and measure both

You know what I like about the corolla? The heart punching sharp bassy speakers. The narrow body which lets me squeeze through places. The linear power delivery of the 1.8 engine. The super smooth CVT.

You know what I hate about the corolla? Disconnected loose steering. The steering buttons. Body roll. Sitting so high up in a car which has personally destroyed the wow factor of sitting in SUV's, they just dont feel high enough. Even my Kia Sportage gives that feeling, thanks to corolla. High speed instability + excessive bounce tendancy.

Dont even get me started on the ergonomics of the interior, they're worlds apart.

since you own both of them, then its pretty easy for you to get a measuring tape and go note down the readings.

My findings are based on personal experience, not figures.
As for the high seats, these are the requirements of today, people with weak knees or back problems can't use a civic, because the seats are so low, its very difficult to get out of. Yes, certainly the civic has better dynamics and better road grip, but the corolla has ample of those things till where daily usage of a sedan is concerned.

If thats the only wow factor you find in an SUV, i can't comment further, PS hilux and surfs don't have high seats, does that mean they lack the wow factor.

High speed instability

this is something that so many people quote, and i believe that when so many do it, it must be true, but i don't feel it, i have driven my grande at 200 kmh, numerous, i have executed turns on the motorway at 160 kmh, not once felt unsafe or unstable...
I have driven a 9th gen civic at the same speeds, not much difference...

Im talking about the vehicles ride height, not the seat. The seats are adjustable. I previously mentioned that even if the corolla HAS MORE leg length (which I doubt), the civic is wider so people fit more comfortably. The only hinderence would be the transmission tunnel.

the civic is wider, but on the outside, not on the inside. THis is some weird design but it is so, civic is built to as a four person car, and corolla is a five person car, i am a bit large, so i can speak for others , but three of me( 6 foot 2 inches, 210 pounds) can't fit in a civic, but can in a corolla...

The 9th gen was also a victim of instability. I was travelling to Lahore airport through cantt and was taking the left corner before the long stretch (where the army tanks and helicopters are) It was around 1 am and I took that around at 110km in the third lane. (Empty roads). Mid corner there was an idiot who decided to change lanes into my lane half way through and I braked, the rear end of my car stepped out and the front end was facing the museum. Luckily I was able to pull the car back.

You are used to the corolla that is why you dont feel it. There was a time I got used to it too and was taking motorway corners at 160. I just hated the fact that I was leaning so much.
