On a serious note, there are already a lot of threads based on the same topic. Should have searched for those instead of starting the same topic again.

Corolla vs Civic is a never ending war. It’s just like Apple vs Samsung or HP vs Dell or Nikon vs Canon etc etc. There are no clear winners and every competitor has got something in it due to which it stands out from the other. You cannot just say that this is the winner and other is the loser. Because if other one was the loser, you wouldn’t be hearing its name again and again in comparisons.
Just get the one which pleases you. Drive both and buy the one you like. Easy peasy.

Depends upon you usage, if you will drive it yourself than CIVIC X and if your driver will drive and you will sat on rear seat than Grande is recommended by myself though civic x is a class above Grande in everything except long term reliability and rough and tough usage.

Frankly speaking I do not like the exterior shape of new civic at all. In this respect corolla has a much better shape but interior quality of corolla is very poor especially the design of dashboard is very disappointing. If I have to choose from civic or corolla I will reject both cars and buy honda city which is much much better as far as shape and interior design and quality is concerned.

personally i would have preferred civic 1.5T but it was discontinued and the regular 1.8 civic does not interest me. i have also seen a few 1.8 civic with charging and battery related issues and also in hilly areas like nathia gali. my observation is that finish is not very good and if the car is not highly maintained the wear and tear of cabin and paint job is extensive in a short time. earlier civics never had any problems. i wonder how such a costly new car can have these issues. grande might also have issues but none reported so far. i am waiting for re-launch of honda turbo but i have a feeling that would not be any time soon despite tha claim of expected re-launch in march. personally i also do not agree with honda 1.5T issues having been resolved by software update for the simple reason that had the issues been resolved the production would have restarted long time back. anyways honda or toyota both are different technologies and choose on your preference.

Honda City is a 9 year old beat up model. Although i have one but the reasons you mentioned don't qualify to beat both the Corolla and the Civic

Looks are subjective I wont comment on it. As far as quality is concerned, current city is worst among all sedans. Minimum noise insulatin & cheap & hard plastics everywhere in addition to being outdated, I wont consider it as an option.
