Since a civic (1.8 not 1.5) costs around 5 lac more than an Altis, your interest amount would be more and a Civic depreciates faster than a Corolla since the market size is comparatively smaller. If you are financing I will not recommend a Civic in that case

i have gone through same dilemma couple of months ago.... i have driven both Grande and Civic Oriel, in fact i have owned Grande 2015 and sold it recently.

The decision entirely depends on individual preference and choices, both care have pros and cons. If you are resale and value conscious and considers a car as investment then choice is obviously Grande.

If you car is going to be driven on rough and tough condition road and load wise then again Grande is obvious choice.

If above 2 are not really a concern and if you want to have a eye catching experience with more advanced features like push start, electronic brakes etc then Civic is way to go.

Quality wise to be honest there is not a much difference, i have owned Grande and found substandard finishing so as the case with new Civic.

by the way i have opted for Civic.

Leasing doesn't mean you have to give "Own Money". Its the speed money that anyway can pay irrespective of Lease or non-Lease purchase.

Yesterday, I came across a new Civic's user in the market. His opinion (rather experience) was that its Ground Clearance is much better than the previous version or the NewBorn. He also appeared to be satisfied about the right pillar issue.

But that's only because Civic always had a suspension, this time it's (Multi-link) no?
Corolla still uses torsion beem which means there's nothing which could go wrong with it as nothing exists there in the first place.

Rest depends upon how & where you drive/intend to drive. A smooth suspension would never be recommended for off-roading where torsion beem could be a champ.

More hp, yes it has. But Grande still gives it a run for money in a drag. 2 cars gap at the very least.
