Honda Civic Vti Oriel 1999 VS Honda City 2003

Hi Guys....

I sold my Cultus 2001 model last month.. and now I am ready to get into the Honda Circle.....

I am little bit confused about the 2 Honda.

I have the budget of 7 lacks and I found a mint condition Honda Civic 1999 Vti Oriel with sunruf and Automatic.

Now Honda City 2003 is making me UPSET

When I see the price its 7 Lacks and 7 Lacks is an Amount..

and when I see the Model of Civic its 1999 10 years old model.

but on the other hand.. Honda City 2003 model are in the same price

so the point of confusion is...

Should I buy the Honda Civic 1999 or should i go for Honda City 2003

Please help me because there are lots of genious guys who know about these both rides ..

I will be very thankful to know about..

dude the third picture is of a 97 civic! anyhow, if ur concerned about fuel economy then go for the city cuz that civic is a gas guzzler!
if not then go for the civic man, its ride no one regrets! alot of power, really low, really comfortable!

Guys City is not Automatic City is Manual Transmission....

One more thing ... Some one told me that in Civic Automatic when its running on CNG and the Car shifts the gear it will give you a little shake .. its like some one just push the car from front and then release you know what type of shock I am talking

its like when the Cultus is Running on CNG and you just switched the AC button ON..

city
Pros :
Newer then Civic. which normally not always means less maintenance.
Gud fuel avg.with power.
Low millage (not necessary) but being a newer model it should have less miles on her.
Comparatively higher from ground then civic.so u dont need to worry about high speed breakers.
Annual Tokens are cheaper..

Cons :

Ride may not be as comfortable as civic.(civic being top end model)
Manual..although it's a pro but nowadays due to city traffic it has became con.
Sometimes finding spares can become a daunting task.(u dont agree, ok find me a clean air filter box,or centre console even some engine parts r hard to find)

Now for CIVIC:

Pros:

Top end model of it's time.
Automatic,very handy in lahore traffic.
Gud road grip,Although city's road is not less either.

Cons:

Fuel avg is a concern.
low ground clearance makes her uncomfortable to drive over speed breakers.
high maintenance being 10 yr old car.
Spares easily available compared to City.
One of favorite cars among thieves.(3 civic of same models have been stolen in my social circle,none of the City's Thanks to Allah Almighty)

^^^ very right! though the poster claims the civic is in mint condition so maintenance wont be that big an issue.
about the city, well i dont find it hard to find spare parts, go to montgomery road n ull find everything (almost)

City 2002-03 is also a good car but it doesnt stand in comparison with 99 civic!

i also agree civic is better but not auto. CNG is not good on auto civic i have experienced many problems so its better to go for manual.

City: when u turn on AC ur engine rpm get constant and compressor trips when u want to pick it up at once but civic doesn't have this option.
city have less bushes than civic.
I think city is best.

I'd go for the city because no matter how good the civic might look, time always takes it toll...
And yes I have also heard that the city is fairly light on fuel..

Ppl here say civic wud b more comfortable, bt how when it has got repaired suspension?
Low milage is always a plus, u wont lyk to spend 7lacks and still give frequent visits to mechanics..?? Little things will go wrong with ur civic as its old and u ill hav 2 get them fixed.. coz theyll b annoying.(nt talking ebt cmplete breakdowns)

So the newer d bttr... peace of mind, cheaper on pocket + lower costing spares.

And Important thinmg Civic is Auto rite? Well its Nvr recommendd 2 convert an Auto car 2 Cng as it wud ruin its ATM system... so here a 1 big minus 4 the civic!!

well i think city is a better option as far as repairz n fuel economy is concerned,and drive aint bad either..its an up model and surely wud have done less havoc on her!!

well according to me civic is better because its spare parts r widely available both new and kabli!!2nd thing is that it is a very comfortable ride and spacious as well but city is not that spacious even its trunk is also small after cng!!u will find it hard to find some spare parts of city as it is not a widely spreaded car!!moreover the body shell off civic is much stronger than city!!city is like very thin sheet metal just check it urself!!!NO OFFENSE!

Yaar i have 2000 model civic vti. mein kehta hoon is se achi gari aur koi nai banasakta. the ride is so marvelous. it feels like you are floating on air. the comfort , power is amazing. no matter it drinks up alot of fuel but it has a 1.6L vtec engine as well. and it gives the power too.

mainteneance kya he yaar is gari ke? oil change after every 5k kms. plug change after every 10k km. air filter ka kharcha bachana he to air intake laga lo. aur koi kharcha nahi he gari ka unless it is not hit from anywhere otherwise it might leak oils from broken seals.

city bhe bohat achi he. but people who find petrol a bit hard to afford should buy this car not civic. my civic gives like 9km/liter. i dont feel it cuz i know it deserves it the way it performs.

Cng jo bhe lagwata he gari mein vo pagal he. he should rather go on bikes or public transport cuz it ruins your cars engine and shortens the life of the engine.

i would say if you can afford petrol then go for civic as it rocks in every way. awesome acceleration, drive comfort, VTEC engine, and civic has a lot of grace. put some good 15" rims and looks real nice . Auto transmission is also an added advantage as well as bigger tyres for civic give u better handling. bigger passenger compartment and bigger trunk then city.

For people who think purani gari mein kaam zyada hote hein. Aise koi baat nai he. If you find a car that is driven in good hands and us ke kaam waqt par hote rahe hein to no problem. Just find a car in genuine paint to ensure no accident history. engine ke kaam hojati hein. NO BIG DEAL.
