AoaI have a civic vti 2005 and today i went to my mechanic as the car gives a jerk (jhatka) sometimes when changing gear and the other problem is that once cruising at 110-120 km sometimes it downshifts one gear and then does not go back upto top gear untill i stop put the car back in P and then drive again but its quite annoying as it keeps down shifting from top gear or simply denies going in top gear. So today i visited my mechanic for this issue and he told me that the gear box needs to be replaced... And now im thinking whether thats the only solution so if you guys could give any advice that could save me 30k that would be great.
your trans' valve body is partially plugged up, btw when was the last ATF changed and what ATF was used?
I bought this car recently from a friend and he told me that approximately 20000km ago the ATF was changed, ive checked the oil and its clean the level is where it should be. So what should i tell my mechanic that first clean the valve body and have the ATF changed ?
the best way, without wasting time and money , is to get it diagnosed by a computer. It will pin point the exact shift valve which is not working properly. best of luck
Today had the transmissioned diagnosed and nothing came up. Took xulfiqar bhais suggestion and had the valve body checked and had it changed along with honda ATF and all the problems have gone away. God bless you all and special thanks to xulfiqar bhai.
