Honda "Fat Cub" a.k.a. Honda 50 Modified

the handle is from some Chinese rickshaw, roll back to stock handle.

The handle was removed instantly and a short handle was used. Additional External shocks were added to the front fork. The 50 has original shocks inside the front fork which works inversely when brakes are applied. in normal bikes when u apply brakes the shocks goes down whereas in 50 when brakes are applied the front shocks goes up.
front handmade cowl was made for headlight housing, handle plate was made, the front external shock were welded badly so they were re-weld and cleaned up with the grinder.

this is how funny it looks with the handle. so the handle was changed. front fat tyre was also installed on the rims

if all of OEM Honda body parts are removed its is not at HONDA CUB at all

Only Honda 50 Engine is there, rest is 'gutka class' receipe of Chinese stuff and locally hammered cowlings !

The only parts removed were the handle, front mudguard, and the tail which was cut.

all the other body parts remains intact. As i already said above that it is not a restoration of 50 instead it is modification, and internationally like indonesia, Thailand, malaysia and other countries even in UK where this kind of modification is done, the bike is termed as "Honda Modified cub".....
so it will always be a 50 and called a honda modified cub.

Now, after getting the above done, following more things were done.

Front mudguard was made and welded.
Seat was made according to single seat.
some after market parts were purchased for cosmetics and fitted
Headlight (cafe racer style)
Speed o meter
front arm repair kit
Sliding led indicators from ali express
new Wiring with battery
all accelerator, cltuch, wires,
double stand was replaced with a CG 125 one to make the bike stay on double stand due to height of tires.
local made silencer

the front mudguard and the seat was looking idiotic making the bike look like rikshaw so removed the mudguard completely and the seat was later shaved more to reduce in size and fit according to the tank size.

uptil now there were many minor things that were still needed to be adjusted and the dentar was wasting time and making excuses.

fuel tank holes to be adjsuted.
seat plate to be adjusted
handle bar holders to be alligned and the plate to be adjsuted
cleaning thru grinder of all welded places
body needed to be mended to make it unifrom
holes for newer engine to be made.
clamps welded to hold external shocks were not upto the mark, the wholes were misaligned.
although the front fork was widened also to adjust the tire but it had some issues
the disc plate needed to be made for holding of caliper which the dentar was unable to understand.
back light housing was also replaced

so one day, i picked the bike, put it on rikshaw and went away and never turned back because it already took more than a year now and i had made so much visits that i cant tell........

so i started it driving to identify its faults more. some changes were done by me like handle changed, meter added, back mudguard added, front mud guard was removed, silencer added.

Engine is from hero 70?

the engine is stock 70cc honda original uptill the last post i made. the original side cover was confiscated by the dash dentar and said he had lost it.

i will update on the engine in later post.

this is a later model efi cub and this bike has even a check engine light as well. yes he will find it difficult to sell it becuase 265k is a big amount..

the engine is originally 70cc as its an 84 model honda, they bear the load of tires but yes a bit heavy on the pickup.

later i had it got upgraded.

Magnet cover is form hero.
Stroke it up to 100cc to push the weight of those wheels and for that hero 70 head + carb is good option.

Now with the corona started, things slowed down. my mechanic bought the engine which was Chinese 110 cc 4 fwd gears which was bought just before lock down started and remained with him till the lock-down getting normalised. in the meanwhile i found another dentar who resolved many things, like changing the front headlight design, handle was re done again, tank was sealed as it started leaking, disc plate was made by lath wala bechase honda 50 front suspension had inverse working so i had to made a custom plate to hold the disc caliper in a way the the plate moves up and down with the shocks but holds the caliper at stationary position while brakes are applied. double plate was made and after trial and errors it was in place.

The bike was almost complete in nov 2019 for paint job, During the time engine was installed, with some wiring upgrades and the change of sprockets numbers. this is how the front look after handmade cowl was reshaped and the handle.

Fast few some more time, the bike is now ready to go for paint job and the shades in mind were.......
candy red, electric blue, orange, army green and some more vibrant shades......

so finally dismantled the bike to bits and pieces and handed over parts for paint as well as the chrome/ galvanising job. some shots taken before the paint work.

cafe racer mirrors were added, the seat was shaved and reduced to tank size, the replaced 110 cc falcon self start engine can bee seen in the pic. this is more or less the bike looks in its final shape

After a waiting for approx a month, the part came back from chrome guy and the painter. the color selection was "Electric Blue" with black combination. rims were done "rust orange"

the home drawing room was full of bike parts as i was having WFH and the end of 2019 was in place.

Sir how much for the paint job and what it costed u to get these parts painted and galvanized and chromed please share the pricing and what paint brand you used and was it done in booth?
