some thing is missing in this thread.
GOOD it was a disappointmnet for many as people expect a dynamic new gen models from Honda. sadly the 9th gen did not grab the attention of the majority n its evident from the comments at various sites such as www.8thcivic.com n www.9thcivic.com n even here on PW. it was broadly termed as a city 2004-2005 from the rear n the current city from the front. no extraordinay features were given either. i think for the 1st time Honda did get it wrong!!!! n Toyota got it spot on this time!!!
I think its also because of cracked block problem in 8th gen civics
yes - where are the corolla lovers, This is like fish to a cat for them.
point to ponder, a person fights for the reputation of a 1.3L corolla - WHAT?.. It would make sense to side for a corolla XRS which had the 2ZZ-GE engine. Similarly we have people on PW who are willing to draw swords for a wheezy civic VTi.

The people who invented the Civic, doesn't even have it anymore. Because they hated it and the Civic rust to a slow and painful death.
Same will happen to Corolla as SIZE matters gentlemen, in the land of tiny, size matters.
So what would be the reaction of Atlas Honda? Will they continue the current model and wait for the redone Civic?
Atlas being a Pakistani business governed by biased Pakistani laws and a saith environment will continue to sell you an incomplete car at inflated prices. Dont worry about that bit.
Atlas is hardly breaking even whe it comes to its profits. i dont foresee atlas group taking a risk with the non facelift 9th Gen Civic n would continue. Furthermore, the current 8th Gen is getting popular and its demand is high. people are preferring civics as majority of the ex 2.OD saloon owners are trying out the civic as diesel is expensive n the good MPG of civic.CNG is another factor. people arent impressed by the 9th gen pics n looks in it. hence the 1s which were holding back for the expected new civic generation are now buying the current civic. my prediction is dat they will continue the curent model for yet another year!!
Atlas would not introduce 9th gen, honda japan would insist to do so, after long contradiction atlas license would get canceled. RIP Atlas !
