In 2002,I bought a Honda Civic Vti with factory fitted Nav-Trak,which was a joint venture between honda and trakker (the same company which has just announced a 92000 navigation n entertainment system). The honda Nav track comprised of a screen which showed maps,ur postion n u could also store ur own landmarks.gps satellite tracking was included in the 50k package(+12k annual subscription)...the whole thing worked prefectly for a year,n then one fine morning the map just disappeared from the screen n a "gps not locked" message appeared.
A few weeks after this incident,we bought another civic Vti n we asked em to install nav-track.We paid em the extra 50k when they returned 35k,when asked they told tht the Honda-trakker venture deal had been cancelled n they could only give us satellite tracking.
We were totally confused, the trakker(or honda,or whoever is responsible for this scew-up n loss of 35k) should've atleast told us n returned the 35k(or some part of it).
I went to the trakker ppl a dozen times n they didnt solve the problem..they just promised to call me the following day n ask me to collect a replacement cartidge(its like an early 90's video game console cartidge which has all the data)
i have still got the satellite tracking thingy in both my cars (thank god this is not a joint venture) n its working perfectly, though they have been a few mishaps(once i got a call from em tht my car has been tracked on the motorway when it was parked in my garage)
