Honda rebirth 2015 - Best mechanic to change the Main engine-gear seal in Rawalpindi/Islamabad

Hi Everyone,

I need suggesting for best and reasonable mechanic to change Main engine-gear seal in Rawalpindi/Islamabad for honda civic rebirth 2015. Honda Avenue is charging 30k labor for this job. Need experts suggestion.

30 k is bit reasonable if we think from dealership prospective.

Its very high for an end user. How much you you will charge?

They are offering 20% discount when i talk to their manager. which makes it 24k for the labor. @rajaatta How much you will charge for it?

How about more 50 % discount on quoted 24 K

thats not bad. Will you save the AC Gas? as they says they have machine to suck and store the AC gas and then they will fill it again?

It's strange what they are saying A/C refrigent is not touched at all when replacing the Main oil seal.
May be it's a practice by them to increase labor etc

rear main seal would require the gearbox to come out....

good time to change all the axel / gearbox seals as well.

clean and refresh the starter motor and electrical connections,

in case manual transmission, inspect the clutch cylinder, throw out bearing, clutch condition.

flywheel would need machining and re-torqueing, use loctite on the bolts.

if auto, replace trans fluid as well if time to change is near.

for rear main seal activities, its best to combine several activities together

Thank you for you reply dear, There is no other problem in car. only seal have a leakage, For whole night there are 4-5 drops of oil everyday. Also car is Auto transmission and mileage is 81k. They have recommended to change Gear oil, Main seal, Torque seal and Coolant

@rajaatta, They are saying they will suck and store the AC gas and after the work will be done they will inject the same refrigent again and i don't have to pay for the new A/C refrigent.

you dont wait for a problem to manifest before going for repair..

best to do preventive maintenance when you are already doing labor intensive repair work.
