2014-2016 models are very much known for having transmission (gear) issues. They overheat. Either make sure it's been replaced, keep it in your budget, or avoid those model years.
When we had our 2014 model, first the clutch bearing failed. Replaced it with Chinese part. That failed 3 months later. Replaced it with Japanese replacement part. That was okay. Then had a complete transmission failure. Car had to be towed home.
Had to replace entire gear assembly. Almost 2 lakh for a 2019 model used unit.
Our vezel was a complete lemon. Always had sometthing wrong with it every 2-3 months. Regular workshop visits. Meter was also reversed.
I told my father if it lasts 3 months without going to a workshop, we will keep it. Otherwise we will sell it. After 2.5 months, the a/c failed.
Sold it 2 weeks later for a bit of profit.
Maybe I got a bad one, but I would thoroughly check everything or get it inspected by a PROPER mechanic before purchasing as it is not a cheap car to buy.
Also, because these vehicles have a dual clutch transmission, the transmission heats up quickly in our style of stop and go traffic. You must change your driving habits in order to keep the transmission/clutch plates last otherwise they will fail prematurely.
I only liked the vezel when I was the person driving it. It is very uncomfortable as a passenger, especially in the back seat. Also, it is an AWESOME highway/motorway vehicle with excellent, sporty handling. But, the backseat comfort and unreliability of ours ruined it for me.
Good luck and hope you find a nice example inshallah!
