Honda vs Toyota and Why?

Alright lets have a sane and reasonable discussion on what is your preferrence? I know this has been discussed a lot and there has been no end to it and i do not expect it to end as this is and will be an ongoing discussion of who is best and why? You have to answer the why question and pls no criticism just your simple opinion and no attacks. Any Attacks or criticism of someones answer will be considered as off topic, any arguments will be considered off topic. Just simple Discussions and the answer to Why? if you do not answer the why question, it will again be considered as off topic.

I say Honda coz It is the biggest Engine maker and it has always been performance oriented and their products have been on the sportier side. Honda has been the pioneer of most technolgies found in F1 today and the past and looks like it will be that way in the future too. Honda has the Boy racer image but is growing up. Their technology transfer is direct to their production cars from any of their motorsports. Honda was the first manufacturer to have pewny engines with more power. I can go on about Honda but I will keep some for later.

Not Toyota coz, it is not known as an engine maker and hardly makes any engines most of them are outsourced. Toyota is too Vanilla and unsporty. To me it feels like their cars are designed for the ladies most of them at least. Even the infamous 2000GT is originally the work of Yamaha and Nissan, and when Nissan decided to bail and go with their Z model, Yamaha was looking for a partner to build the 2000GT and Toyota jumped at it just to change their conservative and vanilla image but their contribution was mostly financial.

What do you think and Why

Hmmm,hard to choose between em cuz i love em both,well sticking to the topic I would like to ask,what u think would happen if we collaborate them both,I mean a Toyota with a Honda engine for e.g A Toyota Vitz with Honda's D15B or D16Z6 :)?Will we end up with a Gr8 car or just a crappy Hybrid.

Well IMO if both companies were to merge I say it would become a boring world. So my answer is there are better engine that can be placed in a Vitz B16b or B18 or the Latest K20.

D15 or D16 are economical engines from Honda not performance oriented

Verdict:
In my Opinion Toyota is better.

Why?
Performance is not everything especially while driving in Pakistan. Of course Honda has better image when it comes to engine production. Toyota has a big line-up of vehicles and have variety of classes like V8 SUVs, Giant Trucks etc. (to which Honda has no answer...Civic can't answer) and most of them have better designs than that of Honda.
In some of their vehicles Honda has an edge in designing over Toyota e.g. Camry or Accord Euro R??? Accord Euro R is my answer.
On the other side I also get fascinated by the size of Toyota Motor Corp. the 8th biggest corporation and 3rd biggest automaker of world (one of the reasons why i love GM too :D).
I also rate Atlas Honda Cars one up to Indus Motor Corp. when it comes to updation but on financial side IMC is better than AHC.

Toyota=Boring, Uninspiring, Confusingly similar looking designs. Hardly anything in terms of performance, too plain and potato like (lets leave out the 20V mania here for a minute and don't compare a V8 Cygnus to a Civic for God's sake).

Honda=Fresh, Energetic, Different, Classy & Innovative. Honda has a heritage of creating something out of the ordinary, something daring. For example lets look at the Type Rs or even the NSX. Toyota just fails to come near that mark, they're too busy in having an overly zealous lineup of similar and boring cars.

I think Toyota is better:

Toyota is coming out with futuristic cars (in other countries) it has great resale value, and although the earlier cars werent very nice looking now Toyota is releasing great cars with great economy like Camry 07 RAV4 etc. etc. Also Lexus is making very nice cars compared to Acura which is stuck on its SUV and sedan model.

based on the pakistani experience. toyota is boring and honda is non practical for many reasons. one of them is that it cannot comfortably accomodate 4 full size adults but i am still neutral about honda because of the good bits like engines, but i will prefer a nissan or a mitsubishi over any toyota any time.

For me it will always be Honda.

Why? Because Honda, like everyone else said, is fresh and inspiring. It comes up with technologies others wouldn't dare attempt. The performance on Honda vehicles is extraordinary. The only image that comes in my mind when I hear the word Toyota is an aunty driving a Corolla in the right lane at 40 km/h on the highway.

Yamaha Motor bike manufacturer makes most of the engines and the diesel are done by Isuzu

These companies dont give you free cars on such discussions.. so i dont care about these companies did in past or do or want to do in future

My reply is in regard with the Pakistan Scenario only...

Corolla got good ground clearence, cheap parts, excellent resale, looks quite sober, engines are rough and tough, suspension is very durable. 2D Indus shape is very very much reliable in comparision to any car here in Pakistan. LC is a very good SUV, headache less machine.

Honda image is a bit refreshing though but I think its kind of a bit loud and I always had this ladies car kinda concept in my mind, which is quite wrong though. Perfomance wise Toyota is nowhere near Honda but still I will prefer a Toyota over a Honda any day.

I aint saw any Honda without an oil change running strong for 160k kms but I saw a 2d Indus with 160k kms on clock without an oil change just adding oil and running.

you post the pics the toyota with DOHC Vtec but in Pakistan early 1984-1986 accords or 1984 , 1986 civic they are converted to diesel engine...... as far i know there was no Honda diesel engine was present in Pakistan markets so they powered by toyota Diesel Engines.............
