Shogran hotels offer free stay during Ramazan
MANSEHRA: The Shogran Hotels Association on Friday announced to provide free accommodation to tourists during the month of Ramazan.The announcement was made by the Shogran Hotels Association President Mushtaq Khan Swati at a press conference at the summer resort on Thursday.
Mushtaq Swati, flanked by almost all the owners and managers of the hotels of Shogran, said there had been boom in the tourism business for the last one month and hoteliers had decided to continue the season in Ramazan and offer free of cost stay from the first of the holy month.
âThough it is not an easy task for the hoteliers to provide free room services, we are doing this to prolong the tourism season, which is getting squeezed due to the early advent of Ramazan,â he said.
Other speakers said hundreds of employees, who are usually rendered jobless in Ramazan, would also benefit from the hoteliersâ tourism promotion drive in the holy month.In response to a question, they said that running cost of the hotels would be met by the money earned by serving Sehr and Iftar meals to tourists staying at the hotels.
The hoteliers said the tourism industry was badly affected in the October 8, 2005 earthquake and due to the government apathy the hoteliers were still reeling from the brunt of the tragedy. âWe are offering such incentives to stay in business and keep tourism alive,â Mushtaq Swati remarked.
