Sorry boys and gyals, been away for a week because of an eye infection. Relaxed at home. This is what I could share from last week and this week. More to come, stay tuned - Days are never the same, ever.
Did some Ssangyong warranty work - Out of all the cool brands, we are Ssangyong dealers
But, we have monopoly on 80% of the parts in Norway
Need to write parts used, and then OP ( Operation Code ), in top right corner.
Then I visited Steinar Stolen, they only sell American car parts and accessories. Mostly for petrol cars.
e A walkthrough of what they have in their shop.

My parts!
Real American Window Washer Fluid
An Amcar outside, they repair cars too.

And another one...
Our workshop / sales place from the motorway... Good advertisement!
Everyone wants to have chilling AC... in 25 degrees...
After work, decided to change all 4 lower suspension arms for the front axle in my car. OEM quality, Lemforder. Bought from Poland, it was cheaper than Norway, even with 45% discount.... I got 4 arms in the price of 3 "Norwegian" arms!
And then I had to release the air pressure in the Airmatic struts.. It's becoming a hassle now. Want to do anything on the car, either disable AIrmatic system or SBC brake system... waste of time with the diagnostic machine.
Let the fun begin, the easiest arms were the front ones. Simple job, didn't find the correct E18 socket, used a 14mm rachet wrench and took out the bolts. Cleaned and greased the bolts with Ceramic 1200 from Kent, before re-installing them.
Think my right front strut will fail soon. Look at the rust!

Out with the old, in with the new parts!
Before torquing the bolts back, the arms need to be in road level position. Otherwise, the bushings won't last long. 2 methods - Either put on the wheels and tighten on the floor, or do like me - Use a hydraulic stand under and press them up. Our mechanic tightened them for me though
Weekend over, went to our other department to help out with some small issues, this is our central department, located near city centre and with loads of hectic jobs. Here we work faster, take smaller jobs - Service, brakes etc. No engine swaps or " Project jobs ". The workshop is smaller and parking is limited. We call it express service
As you can see, not as large as where I work.
5 lifts total including alignment area ( Where the T5 is ), and 4 mechanics.
Sales department have their own car washer and detailer. He does a solid job!
Back to my workplace, a Ford Excursion for some repairs... Wheel bearing, brake pipes ( corroded ), change rotors + pads front & rear and some other small repairs for MOT. It has a large V10 engine
Just the wheel bearing cost 70,000 rupees... And that's aftermarket.
New brakes, wheel bearing and brakes hoses.
Gearbox swap in Sprinter, 6-speed manual. Easy job.
Norwegians love dogs. This German Shepherd joined us whilst we serviced his " Dad's" car
We sell loads of Nissan Leaf's. And we have to stand for the warranty. Like 5/100 Leaf's we buy, are crashed or written off. Only for the parts. So we disassemble them and store the parts.
I decided to adjust the toe-in on my car. It was pulling slightly to the right, and steering wheel was tilted little off to the left... Annoying. And I just bought brand new tires....
Only adjusted " Spissing "
Locked the steering wheel in 12' o clock position whilst adjusting the outer tie rods.
The process
Getting there, wohoo!
Hummer H2 Limousine came in for MOT test, fun job, just getting the car in is a tough job. It is 8 meters long and weighs just 6000 kg. The power steering had severe problems, and made noises I have never heard before. Took me and Kristian to turn the steering wheel....
He was smiling until he found out about the steering wheel lol
I can sadly not show the Hummer on the lift. The procedure was not by the books, so I don't want to get in trouble. Imagine, this Tundra and 3 meters more behind it sticking out with 2 large jackstands under and a forklift hahahaha
Inside of the Limo
Troubleshooting continues on Tundra, ESP, ABS, VSC lamp comes on... after driving on a bumpy road. Alongside rpm, temp, oil pressure meters not working. Headache car.
Checking here and there for faults.......
Chrysler PT Cruiser - Customer tried to change belt tensioner himself, but a cheap knock-off part from some webshop, the housing cracked. Didn't know that they changed the design and sell complete with the bracket now... Made In Canada..
Norway is really, really, really strict with MOT on cars. 2 months after the deadline, and the Police can remove your numberplates. The months are decided after the last digit on the cars registration number. This Ambulance was supposed to have it done by February + 2 months deadline... He came yesterday
It's a Pre-Facelift E class, W211 with the OM647, legendary 270CDi engine. Yes, I did take it for a spin around the property with the blue lights on!
Today morning, had to drive to Møller main parts warehouse ( Møller family = Eldest and largest importer of Audi, Skoda and Volkswagen aka the evil 3 ).
This picture is of Møllerskolen ( Møller service school ), where they brainwash kids to think that VAG is best and teach them how to repair these crappy cars, which often needs repair. I can also brag that they have the best logistics and largest warehouse of all of them, since the cars are soo crappy and need new parts all the time. What a great business idea!
Inside the warehouse, on a good day, they can empty fully loaded trucks with amazingly a truck every 5-10 minutes. I couldn't get a better shot, since the guy kept staring at me till I left and I took a sneak pic from the door.... wtf
So much for life-time warranty. Actually, it was my fault. Used a 1600nm air impact gun to remove the wheel bearing on a VW Passat. See, VAG sucks. Breaks even tools. Got a new one for free though hehe.
Had some lunch, and stared at the 560SL
