Lambo got delayed. The lift we need to use is currently busy... was looking forward to that!
Had to buy some hubrings for a BMW E60, whilst they were finding them, I was staring at some smexy rims
Some dude parked his car next to my S211.. 1936 Chevy 109. 5.7 V8. Unsure if Hemi or what it is.
Went to another shop to pick up parts - They sell mostly Optimal branded parts, Ok quality, very good price. Usually for budget customers with older cars. They are called Bema.
Some of their shelves with parts
Tesla brake rotors + pads... Porsche parts in the middle.
Their lubricants, Carlube is a British brand.
Engine raised in car, left is changing transmission fluid, connecting cables etc.
Not an empty engine bay anymore, huh
2 Moroccan plumbers, really cool guys, came for passing the remaining points they had to fix on MOT. Suddenly, low-beam wouldn't work anymore, resulting in a fail. They decided to take matters into their own hands. Was a fuse which turned out to be burnt.
Dodge Ram in for warranty work - Vibration at 1800-2000 rpm. These cars are imported from Canada, and we can forget warranty claims to the factory. They want the car in Canada... And in Norway, first importer is responsible for warranty for atleast 100,000km / 5 years. Money pit.
I love this truck, my favourite truck so far. Got the V6 Ecodiesel 3.0 engine, produced in Italy. 8- speed ZF transmission.
The front is amazing <3. My Navara feels like a toy now, despite it has 190hp and 3 ton towing capacity.
I had to make a diagnostics test and delete an airbag lamp on a 2011 Nissan Leaf, so it could pass MOT test. Took a quick test drive, ignition on / off a few times and lamp was gone - Passed!
After work, I decided to change / tighten front right wheel bearing on my S211. It had too much play, and was dangerous to drive. The wheel was wobbling like crazy.
Connected diagnostics ( Autologic ), to deactivate SBC brakes, since I planned to remove the brake caliper and give it a nice clean here and there
Jacked it up at the correct lifting points
Removed the wheel, and I didn't find the hub cover, thought it was missing. Then I realised it fell off, since it was too bad. The grease smelt burnt. @£$@£€£ :disappointed_relieved
:
Missing a few ball bearings... haha
Then the fun started, trying to take off the hub. Mercedes usually change complete hub with bearing, but it costs...4x as much as just the bearing kit. It's a matter of effort and experience. At this point, I gave up. Kristian was there, so he helped me and taught some tricks he learned over time.
Even this pulling tool became too small. Brought the one we use for bigger vehicles, need 2 persons to operate it + pneumatic impact gun.
Bought just the wheel bearing for... guess how much in PKR? 7000 Rupees. After 35% discount. That's 560 kroner, and that is cheap! We would've charged around 50 000 pkr for changing one wheel bearing. And that's for the front. At Mercedes, it would cost like 80 000 pkr, since they only change hub with bearing, complete.
New bearing, think it's the inner side
Some instructions...bla bla.. We smashed the bearing on with a hammer, of course in the correct way!
Surprisingly, the "old" bearing was almost new. Someones been here before me and perhaps damaged the cone, see the marks? I might have to find a used knuckle soon, or hope it works. Will tighten / check for slack tomorrow.
After spending about an hour fighting. cursing, throwing things around, we finished. I reactivated the SBC system and just for the fun of it, checked for air leaks... none found, and pressure was around 69 at all 4 points. Minimum is 50>
When the SBC is really defect
Tomorrow imma change ATF oil and our Polish mechanic, Marcin, is good at MB cars. He will inspect valve body for unusual wear and check if they open correctly.... My tranny is slipping.
