How do I fix a fading (yellow) carbon fiber hood?

Calling all detailing gurus,
How can I fix a ailing CF hood which has lost its shine and has become faded and yellow? If you could give me the details of the products I need and the method to clean this up I would be very grateful.
The hood needs to look black and scratch-free.

It might not have a clear coat on top(if it was a cheaper hood) and could produce much yellowing. If you want to try something on your own, try removing scratches with: Meguiar's Scratch X. Then apply Meguiar's Ultimate Polish. Hopefully it would be in much better form. Cover at the end with a sealant or a good quality wax. Dont forget to clay the car before starting with Scratch X. Adding cost of all these products, I would recommend you visiting a detailer and paying him the amount for doing all this. Wouldnt cost more than price of these products

if the lacquer is peeling and yellowed detailing wont do much good.and if the carbon weave used was black than it will look black else it will show the color of the weave,which in this case looks lighter greyish in color.just use a very fine sandpaper i think 2000 number nd lightly srub the scratches and imperfections.than give the hood a gentle rub and simple lacquer it again.
u can add some color in the lacquer or first spray the hood with a translucent type paint to give it light color.

Thanks. I think you may be right in pointing out that the weave color is not black. But its the yellowish tint that turns me off. Ill try the sanding method to see if it makes any difference.

Sell me hood ill fix it by my own
Try using ultimate polish by meguires or simply use DODO lime prime polish with hand applicator. They are quite good in removing the oxidation!
