You don't neesd to worry, your transmission automatically shifts to top possible gear ratio, if you are pressing accelerator very lightly. In user manual, lower gear means driving continuously on "S" or "B" mode is not recommended on long run.
And it is quite hard to tell that in which gear ur CVT car is going, bcz CVT's have no specific gear ratios, its torque converter change its ratio according to the needs.
